From comingsoon.net - "The PG13 rumor is true," Stallone writes, "but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry."
Right now, I'm predicting something like $38 million and $85 million total.

Re: So The Expendables 2 Will Be PG-13 ?
I seriously don't understand this day when we got the new of This Means War being R-rated and then The Expandables 2 being PG-13, who do we have on MPAA board?
Anyways this being PG-13 really is sick, most of the fun will be lost and there will be that less cursing....I just hope we don't have beep sounds everytime an actor drops the much needed F-bomb.
Chuck Norris was not worth the sacrifice of R-rating.
Yeah! it's really strange that the they would sacrifice a R rating for a 5 minute cameo, but I'm definitely betting Lionsgate has something to do with this. They were always talking about bringing in more of a younger audience and then they casted Liam Hemsworth, so it is all starting to finally make sense now. Who knows PG-13 action flicks can be done well like Taken and despite Live Free Or Die Hard being PG-13 I really enjoyed it. Still, I was really looking forward to some hard R violence.

Norris wouldn't appear in an R rated movie?

Re: So The Expendables 2 Will Be PG-13 ?
I find it incredibly lame. I wasn't a big fan of the first anyway--it wasn't nearly as fun as it should have been, and it squandered Jet Li--so I already wasn't overly excited for this sequel, but this drops it down even further.
An R rated action franchise in this post-"Yippee-ki-yay, motherGUNSHOT" world is a fairly rare beast. Can't believe they're going to water it down all so Walker, Texas Ranger can do a glorified cameo. I know Norris is riding a meme high right now, but they didn't need him in this. They certainly shouldn't have changed the whole dynamic to appease his Mike Huckabee-loving values-voter ass. This being from the director of Con Air, the role should have just been given to Nicolas Cage. Would've been a lot more fun. Norris as an actual screen presence is boring.

Yeah, oh no, since it's PG-13, we won't get our CGI gore.
In terms of the profanity, it's not like a whole lot will be lost. The first film only had six f-bombs.

Oh, God, the apologists are out in full force. It's a lame move.

I'm not an apologist. I just think this is getting blown way out of proportion when you consider certain factors about the first film.
I mean, yeah sure, I'd prefer more f-bombs, but the first film didn't have much of them to begin with. Also, I enjoy a good amount of blood, but I'd prefer no gore to CGI gore.
Norris doesn't appear in movies with that kind of dialogue? He doesn't appear in movies that make money - or movies, period. I hope he wasn't really that big an influence on this.

The R versions of Taken and Live Free are better though...
This doesn't really matter though. The first Expendables was just your standard action movie and could have easily been PG-13.

The violence was awesome and cartoony enough that I'm not too worried. Though if that means know automatic shotgun body explosions I will be pissed. As far as language, i don't remember too many memorable one liners with curses.

Well we see Terry and Arnold holding the shotgun, so we know it's in the movie.

I know it'll be there, I'm just hoping the MPAA finds a scene like this PG 13 (I think it does, despite being ridiculous and graphic, its very cartoony)

This movie has all the makings of the failure of the 1st one for as much brouhaha that's being made over the merits of making this PG-13... It wasn't exactly like The EXPENDABLES lit the world on fire folks, PG-13 or not..
