Intouchables is the 2012's highest grossing OS movie after 2 full months. For a movie not released in states that is very impressive.

8.78 average grade on Russian Kinopoisk 57th place in the top 250 list and still climbing. 5th place by popularity as today. Pirated copies may obviously hurt future release but they also created terrific word of mouth.

This is one of only two releases the Weinsteins have set for the entire summer, limited or wide (The other being a Swedish action flick named Easy Money). I think this has a LOT of potential in the U.S. right now if they handle it well.

Estimated 340,000 admissions in its 10th weekend in Germany and 6,500,000 total (it passed Harry Potter 7.2 in admissions now here).
It is still #1 in its 10th week and I do believe there is a certain chance it'll remain #1 next week as well (not sure about Türkisch für Anfänger breaking out). It will be close. It'll break 7 million admissions within the next two weeks. My projection of 8.5 million still stands. If The Hobbit disappoints, it will be the #1 movie of 2012.
What about your projection, Mark?

I'm raising mine to 8m...
As soon as it reaches 7.2m INTOUCHABLES will become the most successful French movie in Germany since (at least) 1968...

Soon we will be on the same page. The Hunger Games will be quite big...I am sensing it. 2.5 million admissions at least. The books are bigger than Twilight was when the first film came out. An opening above 850,000 admissions wouldn't surprise me.

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL) $260m and counting...
Good weather will take a major toll on the box-office this weekend. Then again, Saturday is supposed to be rainy again, at least around here.
If Intouchables somehow manages two more weekend above 200,000 admissions after this one, I'll up my projection to 9 million...

The TV-show was rather popular in Russia. I have been thinking about suggesting a theatrical release here...

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL) $260m and counting...
HR "French comedy sensation Intouchables emerged No. 1 in Italy via Medusa Film. Fourth round at some 400 situations generated an estimated $1.7 million, lifting the film’s market cume to an estimated $10.2 million." .
Not an enormous number like in Germany and France but still a terrific result. It seems also that Intouchables moved from 2nd to 1st in Spain. At least by admissions.

Those drops are unheard of in Italy - and it climbed to No. 1 in its 4th weekend...

So...it will become the highest-grossing non-English-language movie of all-time worldwide, eh?

Overseas then.
Besides, yanno, The Passion's a completely different (and weird) beast, considering the dead languages and all...
Anyway, with its current success in Italy and Spain, still going strong in Germany and releases in many markets coming up, a $400+ million worldwide total is moving up from possible to likely.
