Re: Friday Numbers & Early Weekend Estimates
Pandya says $9,818,000 for John Carter. ERC Early Weekend EstimatesAll things considered, that would actually be not too awful for John Carter. With a B+ from Cinemascore, and only one (R-rated!) opener next week, it could have a shot at at least $90 million still, and with a good overseas run it can come close to breaking even overseas. Journey is having a really nice hold for the weekend despite semi-direct competition though. I never would have guessed before its opening that it would even have a shot at passing the original's gross, but it's definitely on track to do so. If that's accurate for The Artist...yikes. Despite John Carter not breaking out (In relation to its budget) and the other two openers flopping, this weekend should still be ahead of last year, and so long as 21 Jump Street breaks out a lot next weekend should also be ahead, leading up to The Hunger Games (Hopefully) obliterating the rest of March 2011.

Not terrible for John Carter, but missing $10 million is a little embarrassing.

Just as expected. Teens and young adults just didn't give a crap about JC. With such limited appeal I can't see it doing any better than POP especially with Wrath Of The Titans coming out in a couple of weeks. It could easily cut it's legs short.

It can be argued though that older skewing could mean good things for JC's legs.

Re: Friday Numbers & Early Weekend Estimates
I am really interested to see JC's Saturday. Could it get a big increase today and surprise?

Re: Friday Numbers & Early Weekend Estimates
BOM said 59% over 25 which makes more sense.
