As a live action movie it could be a sort of Indiana Jones for new generation with similar numbers. But who cares about motion capture?

Great! Dr. Lecter will bring some fava beans and a nice Chianti and start from the other end.

Latest weekend domestic:

Rank 24: $709,180 - $75,323,319 total (7th week)

Compare that to Quebec:

Rank 6: $96,953 - $9,726,681 (9th week)

So Quebec alone is responsible for 13 % of its domestic gross...

+ Foreign: $296,402,120 = Worldwide: $373,645,856

This one was always a gamble in the US based on the "popularity" of Tintin there. But overall it did OK. Probably not OK enough for a sequel, but enough to cover expenses.

No need to invoke the name of the devil - - my posting history clearly demonstrates that I have been a consistent h8ter of Spielberg's misinterpretation of the great Tintin book series.

H8 made you blind. This isn't a bomb. Did it underperform? Yes. Did it bomb? LOL at even thinking that.

Do remember that I was always saying Tintin would do disappointing numbers (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=65388) but besides the pictures what's your argument for this being a bomb on the BO? Especially when there have been movies which costed more and earned less (both domestic and WW).

I'm certain you're aware of the faultiness of that type of reasoning - - just because there have been bigger historical bombs, doesn't mean that Tintin didn't blow up in the face of Spielberg.

Neither you saying it means that Tintin blew up in Spielberg's face.
