While you make pretty speeches, I’m being cut to shreds. You feed me to the lions, a delicate balance When this just feels like spinning plates. I’m living in cloud cuckoo land. And this just feels like spinning plates Our bodies floating down the muddy river. |

The New York Times calls it a "big, ole slab of honey-glazed hokum." |

Gunslinger wrote: The New York Times calls it a "big, ole slab of honey-glazed hokum." Ooooh I'm skurred! But it's also at 74% at RT right now, so to use only that quote is misleading. Not to mention that Manhola Dargis' review is positive/OK-ish anyway. Gunslinger. *finger wag* And no, I unfortunately am not seeing it until Sunday because I promised a girlfriend I would see it with her. |

The Help has an 75% rating on RT with 7.3 avg and only half the reviews are in. Should be up to 80% by friday. In Comparison Water for Elephants has a 60% with a 6.1 avg Eat Pray Love has an 36% with 5.1 AVG The Time Traveler's Wife has 38% with 5.1 avg The Help is looking good right now. |

The reviews suggest another Julie & Julia, but the appeal to African-American viewers makes the ceiling higher. |

First evening show of The Help here was at 85%. One of the smaller auditoriums, but still quite impressive for a Wednesday night. |

Have only glanced briefly, but The Help looks to be cleaning up in the south. I've seen sellouts in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, etc. Also saw a couple in D.C. and Boston. |

Definitely a lowball there. Has a better chance of doing $30m over 5-days. |

I'm projecting a $7m 3-day because someone needs to be a misogynistic asshole scared of successful female-aimed flicks. |

From notfabio @ HSX: -at usual megaplex final destination combined 3d 2d and Imax only did about 15% better attend than 30mol -final d did do a little less attend than the last one 3d did much poorer this time - -30mol only did about 20% pineApple express midnight FD5 is probably significantly more frontloaded at midnight that 4. 30 min seems to be doing really poorly, so FD5 must be as well. |

FD5 is probably significantly more frontloaded at midnight that 4. 30 min seems to be doing really poorly, so FD5 must be as well. Not exactly suprising. Neither of the two were going to be big midnight releases and if I'm remembering this right the last movie did pretty poor midnight numbers aswell. Besides in the past 2 weeks less people have been going to midnight showings as both Rise Of The Apes and even Cowboys and Aliens had really soft midnights, but still surpassed expectations due to a dramatic increase in Friday business. |

Well it has been pulling in something like over 3,000 tweets a day since last week, so the twitter crowd has always been pretty excited for it. It should blow up tonight especially, but we all know twitter doesn't mean boxoffice success. |

Yeah, Apes' midnight tally doesn't have me too concerned about those midnight numbers. Although, I highly doubt 30 Minutes will break out. |

If FD5 keeps up the same ratio with 30MoL through the weekend, and 30 Mins. does something like $14m, +15% attendance with 3D and IMAX surcharges would put FD5 north of $20m, no? |
