So it looks like Smurfs ended being slightly more frontloaded over the weekend than C&A. Very interesting indeed. |

Good sign for C&A that it stayed flat on Saturday |

It helps being the only real option for older people now. My whole showing more than half had walkers. |

While it opened a little lesser than expected C&A ended up with good dailies. It seems like the Smurfs was being over-estimated from Friday itself, those dailies shows that TS was frontloaded a bit, though without any competition it should do well in the coming weeks. |

I expect C & A will have some ugly drop (-55%) facing the Apes this weekend. Meanwhile, C S L will hold very well (-40%) being the only movie targeting females. |

I hope C&A has good legs because it deserves $100M+, but it will deffentially fall hard due to Apes pulling in the same audience this weekend. |

C&A is bound to drop but given that the opening wasn't huge there is a chance of sub-55%, though 50% is guaranteed. I think Smurfs without competition will do very well similar to Gnomeo & Juliet (ofcourse with summer weekdays it will easily reach $100m mark ![]() |
