CAB and Smurfs open against it and I feel like this one will be the top winner. $100m+ total possible?

$100m is a possibility though I think there have been a lot of R-rated comedies (appealing adults) though none have such mature actors. I am seeing now a total close to $95m

It's not rated R, though, right?

I know that this is not rated R but this is the most appealing adults, who were definitely bigger targets for adult audience.

This seems like a rehash of so many films before it. Carell has done little to impress me since The 40 Year-Old Virgin, and this doesn't look like anything groundbreaking. I see this opening well under $20m.

Yeah, I could be underestimating Carrel's draw. The PG-13 rating is a big plus.

Well, not only that (I see a $20-21M opening myself with strong legs), but the early word on this is stellar. A girlfriend saw a preview screening and said it was her favorite romantic comedy since Sleepless in Seattle, and I've heard other indications it will be warmly received.

I suppose it's still possible it could end up with mixed reviews but I'm not expecting that.

I'd love to see this do well. It looks sweeter and more charming than most of this summer's hit comedies... But I'm worried that may not play in it's favor. Here's hoping for 21/85!

I don't think Carrel's draw will really matter, the fact that this looks hilarious and widely appealing might though. I see this around 25/110.

Have you observed a positive trailer reaction? I've popped my head in on this one a half dozen times and never witnessed more than a few subdued chuckles.

^ But the trailer isn't going for belly laughs (and yes, the key moments have consistently gotten laughs with my audiences, like the Photoshop thing). It seems to make it clear that the movie is a dramedy.

I am honestly not the slightest bit interested in this movie, but I will deffentially catch it on cable. I like the cast, but not enough to pay $10 and ROMCOM'S just ain't my thing. Also when I saw the trailer with TH2 it seemed to get a good reaction, but it was obvious that it's not going fo big laughes or raunchiness, but the ladies in the audience seemed to like it.

:My Prediction:
$25M OW/$90M DOM

Both trade reviews are positive, particularly Variety.

It failed to open above $20m though the legs have been good so far. I don't see how it will make another $51.5m for $100m domestic total. Should end up with $80m in the end which would be good but not great.
