Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
It's at $681,100,000 overseas and still has Italy ahead (where the third movie made over $43 million).
That means it still stands a chance to top the third film's $886.7 million worldwide total. Right now I see around $885-895 million worldwide and over $730 million just internationally, making it the 8th-biggest film ever overseas.

Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
Updated overseas gross:
$690,751,000
Meaning that now it is the highest-grossing Ice Age film overseas, surpassing the third film. Worldwide total is almost $850 million.
That's crazy.

IA movies are just huuuuuge overseas. They will keep churning them out for years. Animated franchises are where the money is.

Sadly. Not that animation per se is bad but all that get made are for the same target audience, kids. *yawn*

A lot of people my age have seen some of these films at theatres - without kids.

I wonder what'll come first - the end of this franchise, or the next actual Ice Age...

Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
Finally IA4 crossed that coveted $690m animation OS record. It was definitely not going to increase this time in admissions and even with decrease in admissions it still shows how HUGE these movies are in OS markets. THR shows that its total is $693.9mQuote: Fox’s Ice Age: Continental Driftis winding down a lengthy overseas run with distinction. An Italy opening generated a whopping $7.8 million at 906 locales. Weekend overall came up with $8.7 million at 1,055 sites in four markets. Foreign cume for the animation sequel comes to $693.9 million -- making the family film the highest-grossing animation titled ever to be released on the foreign circuit. I am not sure how its legs will be in Italy with so many animation movies releasing there but mostly it should be close to IA3's $43m total. There is still a chance for $750m OS total though I wouldn't count on that but at this point it is looking good to take over IA3's WW total.

Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
Quite astonishing.
Another interesting note is this will be the first film (that has earned $100 million+ Worldwide) with over 80% of it's worldwide total coming from overseas. The Adventures of Tintin came close last year.

Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
Does anyone know why BOM's number are $3m lesser? Puerto Rico or something here again?
With a $5.7m weekend I think it will easily get to $715m OS total and there might a chance for $720m OS

Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
I know it's just peanuts, but even with MAD3's blockbuster opening IA4 added some $225,000 in its 14th weekend here in Germany...

Re: ICE AGE 4: Continental Drift (INTL.)
The film is a beast international, any animated film has a shot to catch it in the near future, maybe Finding Dory, but it's very unlikely
