MY predictions
Cars 2 - 80M BT - 28M. Sigh...I know! I'm more cautiously underpredicting now (Green Lantern high $30's, Cars low $50's).

It'd be nice to see Diaz get a big hit with an opening near Bridesmaids, though.

 Re: June 24 - 26 Predictions
I think Bad Teacher actually MIGHT overperform (as in $30+ million opening weekend). The marketing has been really strong and Segel and Timberlake gained a lot of profile over the recent years.

I do think it is a somewhat rare case of a comedy with heavy appeal to both genders so that works in its favor.

 Re: June 24 - 26 Predictions
I would imagine we get some Cars 2 reviews on Monday or maybe Sunday night. It is alarming for a Pixar movie but of course the original wasn't that liked. I think it had the lowest RT scores of all the Pixar films.

 Re: June 24 - 26 Predictions
I think people are way overestimating Bad Teacher. It's facing a massive 4 quadrant sequel, and people will have already spent over $380 million on r-rated comedies this summer. Cars 2: $100 million Bad Teacher: $15 million

Shrek 2 is the highest grossing of all time, and I didn't like it at all. Toy Story 3 is number 2, and it's the worst of the series. Merchandise sales for Cars are huge, so awareness is everywhere. Yes, it skews younger than most of the other Pixar movies, but I think that makes it even more "the movie" to see for families this summer.

I personally think Cars 2 will do at least 75 million and could make as much as 90. I was thinking for Pixar fans this could be the worse Pixar film, hopefully it isn't rotten on RT.
