That's a lot higher than I thought it'd be. I guess WB's massively aggressive marketing paid off (the BKB jinx helped too).

Yeah anything BKB disses or says will do badly does well. And everything he supports do badly I fear for Captain America and Avengers.

And it will drop 65% next week after the toxic WOM gets out. I still think it will make less than X-Men: FC.

lol I like how she can't even wait until midnight on the east coast for this.

That said, that would be very strong for Green Lantern and decent for Popper's Penguins (although I have a feeling the latter will come in higher than that, we'll see).

I am not the only person who thinks that way. I have a friend who saw who I trust and he told me it was horrible.

I don't see how that is laughable, since that is an opinion. I just believe it will. I could be wrong why does it matter.

That would be a GREAT opening for GL if it sticks. Looks like reviews didn't affect it too much at all and suprisingly from what I have heard so far it isn't that bad of a movie. Atleast the buzz isn't TLA bad and at the very most it's passable entertainment. Competition could easily end up killing in the upcoming weeks, but it might still reach $150M.

HAhahahaha BKB helps another movie.

I am seriously worried about Captain America and The Avengers. Somehow, I get the feeling that both those movies will disappoint at the boxoffice.

I'm happy about the numbers, if only because the box office needs it right now!
I personally though the movie wasn't any worse than Daredevil or Fantastic Four, so I can't see WOM being completely toxic. Even the first FF came close to a 3 multiplier....

According to THR Green Lantern is looking at $20m Friday with $57m-$60m for weekend.

No numbers for Penguins yet but they say its on track for $17m-$19m.
