Re: Fast Five (INTL) $24m and counting...
There is no doubt that the franchise is getting bigger in OS. I was just thinking whether this huge boost is because of the holidays or we are going to see an increase similar to RE4

Re: Fast Five (INTL) $28m and counting...
Quote: The strength of Fast Five's early debut overseas -- the action pic has grossed $31.5 million from four countries in its first seven days -- bodes well for its domestic chances.
This year, big openings at the U.S. box office have been missing in action. Fast Five is the first title that has a shot at grossing at least $70 million, and probably more, although it could be hurt by the ongoing box office slump.
The previous film in the franchise, 2009's Fast & Furious, opened to $71 million domestically. Overseas, Fast Five has done bigger business than Fast & Furious in each of the four territories in which it opened last weekend: Australia, the U.K., New Zealand and Korea. http://boxofficemojo.com/forums/viewtop ... 67#3039067

Re: Fast Five (INTL) $28m and counting...
Opening day isn't over yet, but judging by 1st day sales so far and pre-sales for the next couple of days opening weekend in Germany will be at least 15 % better than F&F4, maybe up to 40 % better...

That looks good. Will that translate to double digit weekend or will it be front loaded. Plus what was the OD for F&F.

Should make at least 11-12 mln this weekend and Monday is also a holiday. By the way Thor grossed 1.4 mln including Wednedsay previews.

Re: Fast Five (INTL) $44m and counting...
Its increased almost everywhere in OW, which points to a huge OS total. FF4 almost made 200m from OS and this looks to be headed for 300m OS

No. Updated info for Thursday Fast Five $2 417 900 on 1100 screens Thor $902 201 on 1013 screens and $1 443 522 with previews Kinometro also said that FF did 20% better than Fast & Furious in local currency and probably around 30% in USD. Looks like Fast & Furious had multipliyer around 5-5.1

Insane numbers! And it's only opened in a few markets thus far. Overseas, the franchise installment has earned $55.1 million in its first week. By Sunday, Universal says Fast Five will have grossed $80 million overseas for a worldwide debut of $160 million. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/f ... ive-183767

Re: Fast Five (INTL) $44m and counting...
Definitely great numbers but I still don't see this one making 500m WW. Though it has been released in few markets most of them are big markets and the ones where the franchise is either huge already or growing fast, so these numbers are Great but not out of the blue. Next weekends holds in these markets would determine if it crosses 350m mark in OS or not, which will be the key for it to cross 500mWW mark IMO.

Germany:
461,676 F&F1 669,838 F&F2 447,540 F&F3 643,026 F&F4
F&F5 looks like 825,000-850,000 admissions

Re: Fast Five (INTL) $81m and counting...
Fast Five opened first overseas 10 days ago and this weekend grossed a huge $45.3M at 3,211 dates in just 14 territories. That raised its early international tally to $81.4M. So now the worldwide total stands at a whopping $165M. The pic opened No. 1 in each of the 10 new markets. The openings are bigger than all the previous Fast franchise films and far ahead of Marvel/Disney's Thor, which Paramount has opened head-to-head against Fast Five in 12 markets but not in the U.S. and Canada until next Friday. Even rival studios say Fast Five is on track for a $300M foreign and $500M worldwide finish. http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/

Re: Fast Five (INTL) $185m and counting...
Foreign Update. Fast Five will have already surpassed the WW gross of Fast & Furious ($360M) after it's 3rd weekend. Insane performance. I loved the film so I'm glad it's doing great. And yeah $500M WW is looking quite good at this point. Domestic: $144,997,640 42.2% + Foreign: $198,976,267 57.8%= Worldwide: $343,973,907 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=fastfive.htm
