Notfabio reported Twilight: Eclipse may re-release next week. I wonder how wide it would go and if it would have a soft gross like Avatar's re-release? |

May be summit wants it beat HP6 as well. Highly probable with a dollar theater run ahead as well. |

That movie came out last year, I doubt they are trying to pushing it over Half-Blood Prince. Sure they care about 300 million but more for a marketing thing. |

RS: Mid-20s on [RESE4] Posted by: secretstalker on Sep 05, 19:51 Has the movies for 9/17 (except Alpha-Omega, not listed) all opening from the low double digits to mid-teens with [TOWN] being highest, followed by [EASYA] and then [NCDEV]... which is odd since I think TOWN will get the lowest theaters of those three. [WALS2] is high teens while [GHOOL] is mid teens. Going by those numbers [RESE4] is going to be the biggest opener for September. |

That's unrealistic and would be a fucking terrible September. I guess it could happen seeing that I thought this April was fantastic yet Date Night slightly disappointed, Clash too but also quality-wise, Kick Ass didn't meet my expectations by about 20m, WDIGM2 also didn't do that great considering we know how crappy it's legs would be and even Death at a Funeral and Losers disappointed... Still, RS, which fucking sucks anyway, but since it's all we have is indicating: 25- Resident Evil (disappointing, with native 3D and rush should be at LEAST 30m) 18 Wall Street 2 (disappointing, should manage at least mid-20s with good buzz) 16 Legend of the Guardians (disappointing, even with owls it still looks great and uses 3D great, at least mid-20s) 16 Town (good, but come on, it's trailer is less cohesive than GBG and more spoilerish and muddled, I expect between 10-12) 14 Easy A (disappointing, with such great buzz this movie should be at least 18m but I'm going for low 20s, 23-24) 12 Devil (disappointing, fantastic trailer even with Shymalan's name attached, if people can't read should they be worried, expect Easy A numbers) Also with these numbers, they would barely be beating the terribly genre flicks just released Machete and American and that's bloody unlikely. So, once again, FUCK REELSOURCE. They should freaking get out of the biz. |

I think that looks right for RE, 3D is no longer helping films all that much. Wall St and Easy A should be able to pass $20m. Mid Teens would be great for Town. Gahoole is going to tank IMO |

3D will help RE more than some recent movies, IMO. |

Resident Evil After Life: $27.5 million As far as future tracking: Too high for the town unless it can get 2500 locations, Good for Easy A & Devil if MTC's tracking are higher, good so far for Wall Street 2 & Ga'hoole. |

The Town looks great. I hope it's able to beat Shamalama. Guardians tracking is criminally low. As for Resident Evil - $29.5M |

Yeah, that confirmed my feeling that $30m is possible for RE4. The BOM poll is similar to what the previous one had and better than Final Destination 3D, so with the surcharge, it's very much achievable. |

I think Alpha and Omega should have been released this weekend. Two straight weeks of all R-rated wide releases, no family films since Nancy McPhee Returns, which isn't doing much to begin with, and it will give the film an extra week before Legend of the Guardians. I know the post Labor Day weekend isn't ideal for family flicks, but it feels this weekend would fit Alpha and Omega better. Easy A would have been another choice but we know Sony/Screen Gems isn't going to open two films together, so I don't think that's realistic. |

Yeah, I'm quite surprised nothing moved to this weekend. Alpha and Omega would have benefited the most since Legend of the Guardians looks a lot better. I'm even interested in seeing Guardians and wouldn't be surprised if exceeds general expectations. |
