Maybe there will be some last minute controversy by JLo bringing out a boob and will boost the opening to like 10M. It could happend.

Im supprised at how low some of your team america expectations are. It is ok. I like being the high man.

What are the screen counts? Based on 3,000ish for each:

Shall We Dance, 14 million
Team America: World Police, 12 million

Team America: World Police is, after all, R-rated, a puppet movie, and should really have a good Friday followed by a mediocre-to-bad Saturday and Sunday take.

Don't underestimate the power of the chick-flick.

I am feeling lower gross for Team America as well. Lower than most here predict that is.

$13m-$14m for now.

Though, Shall We Dance should gross even less than that, $7m-$8m.

True, but still, it's very controversial (in the news a lot), people have been reported cheering and laughing with the trailers and it is advertised non-stop. The puppet thing might actually be beneficial, could intrigue people.

Does anyone else see Sky Captain dropping 60 to 70% this weekend? Without the Team America sneaks, it would have probably dropped to $1.6, then a regular drop this weekend would make it $0.7-$0.9. Plus, it's going to drop even more theaters.
