When in Rome won't perform worse than Leap Year. It looks mildly better and has a stronger cast.

Leap Year is also much more stupid than WIR.
I mean, WIR is basically a cliched love story.
LY is just fake and stupid, I mean why run over to marry your boyfriend and choose an uneducated Irishman?
The whole concept screams Hollywood bullshit.

Anyway hoping EOD breaks out towards the 100m mark.

EDGE: Between 21-24

ROME: Almost Teen Millions

FUTURE:

WOLFMAN: Low 40's (4 day)

DEAR JOHN: Mid Teens

PERCY: Between 16-19 million (4 day)

VALENTINE: Mid 30's (4 day)

FROM PARIS: High Teens

Well I still think Edge can breakout, but the real question is will it be enough to beat Avatar ? Also nice tracking for Paris and holy crap that number for Wolfman is huge.

WOW! Wolfman actually has a chance to not bomb at boxoffice. Valentine's Day is tracking great but Percy looks like it is going to flop. Not sure why Percy is tracking that low. They have been hyping this movie by attaching trailers to the biggest movies and tv campaign has been pretty solid too. Ah well.

Not too suprised about Wolfman since the trailers are everywhere and theres been a ton of hype for this movie ever since the footage debuted at Comi-Con 08. Looks like people are more than ready for a hardcore R rated twist on a classic tale. As for Percy I thought it would be tracking alot better this week, but it's the same as last week. It's strange since t.v spots are everywhere, but it looks like Fox will just have to settle for SW type numbers which I guess isn't good at all.

Yep looks like it will be a disappointment at least domestically. I am starting to think it will be another JUMPER. Around 70-80M domestically and another 140-150M overseas.

Surprising MTC tracking:

$11m ROME

That sucks for Edge. What's that mean like below 10m?
Fucking hell.

Unexpected tracking for Wolfman. I would have thought the numbers would be the lowest of the 3 new releases during that week. Percy doesnt quite surprise me given that Eragon, Golden Compass and similiar movies like dont exactly have gangbuster openings. Too many HP clones

What the hell as far as Edge goes. The marketing has been intense for weeks now.

The only explanation I have is that MTC is owned by Jews. You see Jews hate Mel Gibson.

I guess people are feeling like it's way too close to Taken. Been there, done that sort of thing. Plus Taken was far more interesting as Liam Neeson looked like a BA in the trailers. The daughter was also younger which made it more relatable, wheras Gibson looks grandfather-aged. (And if you reference Gran Torino, Clint's age was significantly played up and was part of the story)

I can see that number for Edge. Was there anyone who didn't think it was blatantly trying to capitalize off Taken when they first saw the trailer, regardless of how similar the movies actually are? And when Gibson has been in the spotlight in the last 6 years it has mostly been in a bad light. Now people will think he is desperately trying to reenter the good spotlight by capitalizing on a popular current genre that he was once a big part of.

If Rambo couldn't couldn't crack 20m, why should this?

What does Rambo have to do with Edge of Darkness?

Besides the release date, they are both movies with Hollywood legends coming back to do films of the type that made them popular long ago. But Rambo was coming off good will from Balboa. You don't really get good will points for riding someone else's coattails.
