Yeah, it's looking at $33m or so. The total after Sunday will be close to 1b yuan, or $160m.

I've always wondered is Saturday the biggest movie going day of the week in China or is it Sunday?

Without looking at stats, and just going by what I see living here, I'd say they are dead even. But I'd slightly favour Saturday.

Saturday is always the biggest overall, but Sunday drops are smaller than what U.S. sees.

Today is a holiday in China, so both Sunday and today's gross are strong.

San Andreas will in fact get really close to $100m when its run is over.

A bunch of domestic films are opening this weekend, but the biggest one looks to be Hollywood Adventures with its star-studded cast.

Hollywood Adventures did fine the opening day, but trailed SPL2' OD by a healthy margin (44.52m yuan vs. 68.7m).

JW lost another 1/3 of its screens (down to 22%) and earned an estimated 20m yuan ($3.2m) on Friday. Will break $200m total by Sunday.

And San Andreas is going to break $100m after all. Impressive.

San Andreas did really great.

xia do you see JW making more than AoU's $250m total? Think it will drop hard from here on.

AoU actually ended around $236m, where JW is more looking at a $220m finish.

Aah I thought AoU did $250m but $236m makes sense the weekend drops were huge for it.

Thanks for info on JW

To update on the domestic releases, Monk Comes Down The Mountain opened on Thursday and has done quite well so far, grossing 101.1m yuan ($16.3m) in the first 2 days, but it's not enjoying good word-of-mouth. On the other hand, the other opener I Am Somebody is having good reviews but only earned 15.71m yuan ($2.53m) so far.

Stallone said he will make a film with Jackie Chan and Arnold in China soon. This could be excellent if Jackie Chan doesn't have anything to do with production.

JW is down to just 10% of the total screens but continues to hold well. It could in fact have a shot at surpassing AoU if the pattern continues next week.

Since 2012, Franco's films have earned a lot of rotten tomatoes, Good People being one of the worst of them.

Not surprisingly, Tiny Time 4.0 opened to a huge 109.32m yuan ($17.6m) on the first day, but just like its previous Tiny Time movies, it should be very frontloaded.

Jurassic World officially finished its run at 1.41904b yuan, 45m yuan behind AoU's total.

From what I remember JW was holding well. Another week or two might have made it pass AoU's total right?
