drop is very good. this makes me believe avatar could have had a slight increase yesterday. sellouts looked better to me.

Thats pretty good for Sherlock 100 in its 1st week. Good job it also has already made back it's budget as well so I expect a Sequel in the near future with the way they set it up.

Alvin passed 100 Million on Tuesday it will be interesting to see how much it makes today.

So thats 2 films that will make over 100 million in it's 1st weekend for this week and Avatar is a monster still.

"This is beginning to sound like a broken record: "Avatar" grossed $18.4 million on Wednesday. Domestic total now stands at $268 million with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Could Cameron actually topple his "Titanic" self? Worldwide "Avatar" has now amassed over $750 million."

That is an outstanding Wednesday hold for Avatar, and also good for Sherlock.

It's too early to be thinking about Titanic though. We need to see what this
can do outside of the holidays before considering that.

drop to 16 million tommorrow

increase to 22 million +40%
drop to 20 million -10%
drop to 13 million -35%

yep.sellouts looked really strong. I am hoping it does 20M today. i know that is improbable but one can never say anything is impossible with avatar. it needs 3 more days of 20M+ gross to have record for max number of days above 20M.

The numbers for next two days are going to be REALLY important in determining whether or not it can have the legs to beat Titanic.

Thanks KS.

You guys think Avatar was an outlier or everthing outside of SH increased. Anyone know when that storm occurred in 1998, was it over the weekend of did it hit on Wednesday?

there probably wont be saturday drops this year.

I have to go work out. I will wait until I see the rest of the top ten to get more context, but obviously its impressive. Even if it had dropped to $15m it's still impressive.

Shouldn't all the films drop today because of new years celebrations?

I could see Avatar being a New Year's Eve kind of film, though. Maybe I'm wrong.
