Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (March 30-April 1)
The Queen of Light took her bow And then she turned to go The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom And walked the night alone
Dance in the dark of night Sing to the morning light The Dark Lord rides in force tonight And time will tell us all
Throw down your plow and hoe Rest not to lock your homes Side by side we wait the might Of the darkest of them all
I hear the horses' thunder down in the valley below I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon Waiting for the eastern glow

Wrath of the Titans 3D was surprisingly full in a 200 seater. Trailers for The Cabin in the Woods and The Hobbit got a decent amount of chatting. Some jack-off burst out laughing at the end of the Prometheus trailer. (One of those annoying "Hyuuuhhhhhhh!!!" laughs.)

I've seen a bunch of sell-outs for Hunger Games and a few for 21 Jump Street and Wrath of the Titans.

Saw Wrath of the Titans 3-D at 9:20. Around 40% full. Not very impressive, though the movie has many showings per day. Trailers included The Avengers, Battleship, Dark Shadows, The Dictator, and The Hobbit. The crowd was very subdued throughout. A couple laughs at the film's attempts at comic relief.
I imagine word-of-mouth will be very similar to the first: the most undiscerning, action-horny male teenagers will dig it well enough, though not with any passion. Most others will just shrug.

The IMAX showing of Wrath at 10:40 in San Diego only had about 50-60 people... Never been to such a dead screening before for IMAX. Hell, that few of people for a "blockbuster" movie on opening night is strange enough in a regular screening! Sub 30 would not surprise me... Btw, the movie was a blast to see in IMAX, even if the movie itself was pretty worthless.

Saw Wrath of the Titans in 2D at 10:45, 300 seats, maybe like 20 people. Not sure if that's because people are seeing it in 3D or it's just in for a big drop (partly due to March Madness).

I saw The Deep Blue Sea at 5:05pm. Around 30 people in attendance. Trailers included Damsels in Distress, The Lady, and Monsieur Lazhar.
Then I saw The Kid with a Bike at 7:45. Around 100 people, I'd estimate. Trailers included Free Men, The Salt of Life, We Have a Pope, and Where Do We Go Now?

Re: Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (March 30-April 1)
Yesterday I saw the same movie twice . At 1:20 I saw FRIENDS WITH KIDS. 9 people in a 50-seater. Trailers: WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING BULLY THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD My friend I saw it with LOVED it. She said she could not believe this movie wasn't a bigger hit. Then at 9:20 last night I saw it again with a different friend and her husband. 27 people were there this time, which is way more than I expected. I also thought some people might be scared off because my theater put this in one of their new "luxury suites" and they charge $1 more per ticket (this is just one of their small screens that now has leather chairs - which are nice but it's total BS they are charging more to see a movie in a dinky theater now), and when buying tickets they say it costs more to see the movie. Both times it got a lot of laughs.
