Post subject:  Confessions of a Shopaholic 75m+ club CLOSED!
Okay, I'm a little late in making this club, there are only 2 days till release, but I've had so much buzz and positive sentiment I feel its' gonna happen. HJNTIY has been skewing older woman 20+ (at least at my theater) and this leaves the teenage demographic open, both will do well over V-day and this movie should be good and gain plenty of WOM. I'm thinking:
OW 3-day: 21m
+5 or 6m monday: 26-27m for 4-day
And then a strong multplier from there on out based on WOM and picking up the older woman a few weeks until release, since they will have already seen HJNTIY and want something new.
So in conclusion, this movie will top 75, and I see 85-90 in play.
Anybody in?
this club closes on Friday Feb. 13th at 4 PM, join before then.

Hope so. This looks so much better than HJNTIY, mainly because Isla Fisher is a much more charming actor than anyone in the aforementioned movie.

I'll join. If last year showed anything, its that the female demos are underserved at the box office. It could definitely get to this number. Last April/May was able to support What Happens in Vegas, Made of Honor, Baby Mama, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall all opening within 4 weeks of each other, so definitely think this can co-exist with HJNIY, especially on Valentine's Day.

Not in. I hope so, as I love Isla Fisher, but I don't think it will. We'll see though.

I think this looks cute and Isla Fisher is awesome, but the appeal is, I think, too limited to allow for that large of a total.

$50-60M sounds more reasonable.

OUCH! It performed okay, but is not shaping up to be the explosion I was looking for. There is still an outside shot this club will make it, but it looks very dim now. I think 50-60 is a better target at this point.
