good budgets for both. San Andreas will make a profit
Aloha isnt going to be a loss for the studio, it should make its budget back.

I'm thinking it will gross maybe 30 million in the states. How much do you see a movie like this making overseas? None. It will lose money.

It wont make alot but even something like "How Do you Know" made 18m OS. So say it does atleast 30m + 20m, then it's made the budget back.

No it won't because of that $50 million a maximum of $27-28 million will go to the studio and the $37 million do not include marketing costs. It'd have to make at least $70-80 million worldwide and hope for good performance in the home video market to break even.

I doubt they spent alot on marketing, it was almost non-existent. So again, they wont take a huge loss, if there is a loss at all.

Aloha would still have blown up to $50m with marketing worldwide. It would need about $120m-$130m to get back that money

It will be a small loss, but a loss nonetheless.

Yeah, Aloha will need to make $80m worldwide to break-even. I think it can do that. Overseas markets might eat it up as it's from Crowe and has a good cast.

The cast is an argument, but Crowe most certainly is not. He is a non-entity overseas. Look at his films without Tom Cruise:

Almost Famous - $14.8 million oerseas, Elizabethtown - $25.2 million overseas, We Bought a Zoo - $44.5 million overseas. In each case less than the domestic gross.

He's not a draw on his own, sure. I think Crowe+cast is the factor here.

Decent for Ant-Man but they could have done with $100m given no known cast and not even a big cast overall.

$35m more than Ted and still looks worse. Ted 2 should have been made cheaper. It will make its budget back but still.

$20m while decent still looks big for Max. I thought this will one of those micro budgeted movies that will do big numbers. Regardless it should make money and then get some for the studios.

That's great for Minions. By the time it opens in US it would already start getting money back from OS grosses.

Gallows looked cheap from the beginning so its not a surprise.

I wonder how much Self/less cost. Similar to Looper (30m) or Source Code (32m), I imagine.

While that is a decent budget for Self/Less I think it will bomb hard enough not make that much from theatrical takings.
