As always that is smart budget from Blue Sky. It does not produce ground breaking animation but it brings out good profitable animation.

The Dark Knight Rises" cost between $250 million and $300 million to produce. However tax credits brought that total closer to $230 million, said people familiar with the movie's economics but not authorized to discuss them publicly.

quite expensive however Nolan had to increase the action due to a lack of the Joker and Dent.
Also because Bane is a strong person, make it a epic battle.

Yeah I assume that insisting on doing the vast majority of special effects live, without CGI, must increase the budget big time.

Then again, The Avengers was super-expensive too and that was CGI-heavy, so what do I know.... :|

The biggest expense is not reality vs. CGI, its the length of the movie - a 150min movie is usually more expensive than a 90min movie...

That's why the third X-MEN movie will always be one of the most expensive movies of all-time (per minute), Brett Ratner spent $210m for 94min of film (plus 10min of credits)...

Also, for a third movie in a franchise, longtime actors probably demand higher paychecks. I assume that can increase the budget by $5-10M easily.

That is a little higher but nothing unexpected. The action scenes in the movie are little more than the last time and the movie does look expensive IMO.

I love some of the German title translations. Bolt: A dog for any case. GI Joe: Soldiers with Bite

As expensive as the number for The Watch looks it is kinda expected. I actually thought this could flirt with $80m-$90m so that IMO is a good number. Doesn't change the fact that it is going to BOMB hard.

IM3 seems too high.

I think they are expecting 3D to bring 500 million overseas by default lol...

Yeah that number for IM3 baffles me cause even though the last one was not good it had many visuals, the visuals/graphics on this one though look spectacular from the VERY early pictures. Plus it is too early to say that $250m will stay so it can go little lower or maybe OS marketing estimates are also included in this...who knows till the official number comes out.

While IM3's budget does look ridicoulously high it gives me hope that we will finally get an EPIC IM movie. The last two were really missing a sense of spectacle and scope. Despite the amount of action everything just felt unusually small scale IMO and that's actually my main beef with all the solo Avenger's movies so far. A IM movie on the scale of TA sounds perfect.

250m is way too high for an Iron Man movie. Are they expecting Avengers-numbers or what. I mean, its not called Platinum Man. :)

Much better than previously reported $200m budget. This looks like it will BOMB hard even with OS numbers.

It might sound better, but theres no telling how much they spent on marketing. They have been pushing this movie HARD ever since the NBA Playoffs in May and that can't be cheap. When all is said and done I wouldn't be suprised if the actual budget is closer to $200M.
