Re: Production Budgets
Age of Ultron: Disney will get back as much as 60% of domestic revenues. Theaters take the rest. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/d ... ce=gravityAnyway, 60% of $500 = $300m 60% of $490 = $294m 60% of 480 = $288m 60% of 470 = $282m 60% of 460 = $276m 60% of 450 = $270m If the production budget is $250m + a hypothetical $100m in marketing/prints, you're looking at $700m needed to get to the break-even point assuming the take-home for OS grosses is not as favorable as domestic. It evens out. TA2 will blow past that number by possibly $1 billion. it will almost cover expenses on Dom alone.

I had some threads on it. If people only knew what it went through they'd be applauding it's performance. I mean it finished filming in 2012.

According to LA Times
Tomorrowland - 170.0 million Poltergeist - 35.0 million

As expected a big budget for Tomorrowland and the movie looks so cheap once you watch it.
Poltergeist should break even but i don't expect it will make too much money in OS as well.

Re: Production Budgets
Annabelle made 171 million overseas. Poltergeist should do solidly.

Re: Production Budgets
Annabelle acted as sequel to Conjuring. I don't think Poltergeist brand is well known in OS markets. I am thinking $80m OS at the max.

Re: Production Budgets
Even $80 million overseas would be great for Poltergeist. However, it will be very helped by 3D oversas. I see around $160-180 million worldwide, which means a nice profit.

good budgets for both. San Andreas will make a profit Aloha isnt going to be a loss for the studio, it should make its budget back.

Re: Production Budgets
Bit surprised by Aloha's "low" budget. I figured it might have ballooned due to the A-list cast, a long production in Hawaii, re-shoots (?), etc.

Re: Production Budgets
Yeah that could be the reason for Aloha's decent budget. I was thinking it would be $50m budget movie or higher with the cast.
Very nice for San Andreas as well.
