No box office... ;-) (though a couple of drive-ins are open for business)

Deaths are slowly creeping up, but we still have far less deaths than Italy, Spain, France, UK and Belgium even though we have a much bigger population.

About 10,000 ICU beds are not occupied, that's why Germany has started to take in sick people from France, Italy and the Netherlands (around 200 so far)

Yesterday began our fourth week of lockdown, but thank God it is still possible to go for a walk as we experience beautiful spring weather (box office would have been dead anyway). Of course every crowd of more than 2 people is strictly "verboten" and will be fined.

All restrictions are currently until April 19th, government will then decide what to do next...

Around 50,000 people went to drive-ins (which are popping up almost everywhere) last weekend - but there are no offical charts, JOKER was No. 1 again...

This is an all drive-in charts, as no regular theaters have opened yet.

BTW, 90 % of those drive-in theaters are pop-up-theaters with more being announced...

Many theaters rely on re-releases these weeks, the most popular ones so far are BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (some 51k admissions), followed by A STAR IS BORN (22k).

But theaters book many classics right now. From HARRY POTTER to LORD OF THE RINGS, MAMMA MIA!, DIRTY DANCING, GREASE, PULP FICTION, BACK TO THE FUTURE, JURASSIC PARK, THE INTOUCHABLES, THE MATRIX or LA LA LAND...

Many chances to see classics on the big screens again or for the first time...

Off topic- how do germans perceive Dark success on Netflix, the show is the best damn thing I’ve seen lately.

Post subject:  Re: Germany Box-Office Thread

DARK is a Netflix hit here in Germany as well of course, but I didn't care too much about it. So far I watched just the first season and I had serious problems with the score. The score is one of the worst I have ever heard in TV shows or movies...
But maybe I'll give it another try...
