http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/10113 The director turned in a too-violent cut and Fox has brought in the same guy who cut Live Free or Die Hard to bring the film to a PG-13 version. VERY DISAPPOINTING ![]() May help the box office but I don't care. It's just stupid ![]() |

Seems like a bad idea, especially considering that all of the games are M-rated. Time will tell if this proves to be a Live Free or Die Hard (survives PG-13 rating successfully) or an Alien vs. Predator (PG-13 rating is one of the main crippling factors). |

http://www.iklipz.com/MovieDetail.aspx? ... 0bea86b66c The commercial proudly declares "Rated R" at the end of it. Live Free or Die Hard, AVP, and Transporter 2 were all cut by Fox from R to PG-13, but none of those films ever had that rating in any ads before it was said to be PG-13. So while I wouldn't put it above Fox to pull some bullshit like that, I'm not convinced this is anything more than just a rumor. |

Most movies, if it gets an initial R rating and want to cut it to PG-13 they list the movie as "not yet rated" in their commercials until it is cut. |

Yeah, neither Norbit or Chuck & Larry had anything in the marketing proclaiming the R rating. |

i doubt anyone remembers or cares since it happened around 9/11 ...but Hardball, that baseball movie with Keanu Reeves was advertised as R for the longest time then 2 weeks before it came out all of a sudden it was PG-13 and the studio sent stickers with a PG-13 rating we had to stick on top of the R rating on the posters ![]() but anyway, yea PG-13 sucks for Hitman....if he turned in a "violent" cut why not just tone down the violence and make it an easy R instead of a hard R |

But as for your second paragraph, think again. Fox isn't going to edit down the movie's violence because it was too graphic, they just want the PG-13 rating. It's very rare nowadays that we see a "soft" R action/horror movie. |

Quote: French director Xavier Gens is making his stateside feature filmmaking debut with 20th Century Fox's videogame-to-film Hitman but will the cut that's released in theaters this Thanksgiving be a watered down take on the notoriously violent Eidos game? One report claims it will be, while our sources say it ain't so. According to TwitchFilm.net, "Fox has yanked control" of the film away from Gens due to the graphically violent nature of the cut that he delivered. The site claims "apparently after seeing Gens' cut of the film the studio removed him from the project and placed Nicolas De Toth in control of a new edit of the film." TwitchFilm's source informed the site that De Toth, who re-cut Live Free or Die Hard to earn a PG-13 rating, ix expected to deliver a "bloodless version of the film assembled with no input whatsoever from Gens." Studio sources confirmed that De Toth has been hired as an editor, but not "controlling the project" as TwitchFilms stated. We were informed, "Director Xavier Gens is still working on the film. The film still has intense action and will definitely be rated 'R.'" Our source strongly denied that Fox is softening the final cut and called the original report untrue. They emphasized that it will still be a true "R" and a not a "bloodless version". http://movies.ign.com/articles/826/826204p1.html It isn't PG-13!! |

Good. I'm not anticipating the movie a whole lot, but it's good to see that it will be R. Besides, how do you sell a movie called Hitman with a PG-13 rating? Then again, how do you sell a movie called Die Hard with a PG-13 rating? |

Die Hard 4 was pretty good for a PG13 film. |
