A whole 5 months earlier than originally planned. I think this may be a good move actually, as I do believe it would have been lost in the shuffle of big sequels. BOM is down right now, so I dont know its competition. But I think the marketing is very good, and Stallone got some clout back with Rocky Balboa (A very good amount) and should not only bring Nastolgia fans, but a little more. I'll say right now 14-16 opening (Im not sure if that the weekend is a holiday though so this is without taking that into consideration) 50-55 total. |

Rambos competition says three other films: Mad Money (Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes) How She Move (The mandatory January Dance film) Untraceable (No Directors or actors involved) and Be Kind Rewind is being said to not have a wide release. Im sure thats not definite for those films as Rambo isn't listed on there yet. But if thats it, while Rambo faces the 2nd weekend of 1/18/08, it could conceivably be a number 1 film. Rocky Balboa opened to 12 million over its 3 day weekend, but would have been closer to 18-20 had it opened on a Friday. Because It's R I say its not going to get higher despite Rocky being that good. But I have a feeling that this will be another film that gets good reviews and surprises people. If they keep up the good marketing and raise interest. Im changing my prediction to 16-18 opening/ 50-55 gross. |

The trailer is bloody and gory and I hear Stallone is insisting on making it even more so. Good times ahead. ![]() |
