Post Variety selects the biggest bombs of 2006
Link

Films on List:

1. All the Kings Men
2. Lady in the Water
3. Flyboys
4. The Wicker Man
5. Flushed Away
6. Basic Instinct 2
7. The Fountain
8. Freedomland
9. A Good Year
10. Poseidon

Thoughts? Do you agree with the list? What other films should have been considered for the list?

My selection of other considerations for bombs of the year:

1. Bloodrayne - Cost over 30 million and did terrible - Likely was forgotten about and that is why it didn't make the list.
2. My Super Ex-Girlfriend - This had to cost at least 50 million and it barely made over 22 million.
3. Black Dahlia - Cost 50 million, made less than 25 means it tanked.
4. Zoom - Cost around 35-40 mil. and only made 11.
5. Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny - Made 8 million on a likely budget of 25 million or so.
6. Running Scared - Made only 6 mil.
7. Slither - Made a little over 9 mil. worldwide on a budget of nearly 30 million.
8. The Wild - 37 mil. on a $80 mil. budget.
9. Miami Vice
10. The Ant Bully
11. Material Girls
12. Catch a Fire
13. Blood Diamond

Agree on everything + Flags of our fathers. May be Van Wilder 2 and Doogal should be also in the list, but who really cares :) And don't forget about Hoot's $1,116 PTA from 3,018 theaters.
But still, I think the #1 bomb of the year is Flushed Away. The first time when the major computer-animated movie flops so dramatically. Unbelievable kick to the genre, showing how inflated it became due to 2006 rush for CGI animation. Very sad.

I don't agree with the inclusion of Lady in the Water. Of course, everyone thought it would do better (even though I think DP had it at 12m/30m or something), but I don't think it was a bomb.

Here are the domestic grosses, budgets, and the (domestic gross / budget) ratios of the top 10:

1. All the Kings Men (7.2m / 55m / 0.131)
2. Lady in the Water (42.285m / 70m / .6)
3. Flyboys (13.09m / 60m / 0.22)
4. The Wicker Man (23.649m / 40m / .59)
5. Flushed Away (61.733m / 149m / 0.414)
6. Basic Instinct 2 (5.851m / NA / NA)
7. The Fountain (9.856m / 35m / 0.28)
8. Freedomland (12.512m / NA / NA)
9. A Good Year (7.4m / 35m / .21)
10. Poseidon (60.674m / 160m / .38)

Obviously, LitW has the highest ratio.

IMO, Blood Diamond, Miami Vice, and Zoom should all be added to the list.

Ok, why is LITW on this list? I hated the film, seriously, but it is far from a disaster.
