Late numbers there are usually accurate. Expected drop, will be interesting to see how much it increases today. I don't agree with her lucky punch assessment. It's at worst a toss up between Pursuit and Rocky and personally I think Rocky is the slight fav.

I think it will do about 20-25% more than WTC for the weekend. Maybe 20-21 mill. Adn I think it should now be on pace to do about 75-85 mill, and perhaps 170 WW.

Movies at this time usually get increases in the 40% range. I expect Rocky to do the same. So I say it will do a just under 5 million.

Rocky bringing in under 5 million today would be pretty surprising. I don't know where the 40% number you suggest comes from. World Trade Center increased 75% from its Thursday number. I expect Rocky will outdo that and finish in the 6.5 range.

Look at the year 2000, and even last year. All movies only increased in the 40% range.

Since most of us don't have the luxury of a premier pass, could you post the Thu-to-Fri increases from 2000?

Not a bad start. It only showed in NY yesterday and expanded to LA and SF today. With mixed reviews and how HOFD did two years ago, I was expecting The Painted Veil number.

All movies except Grinch and The Emperor's New Groove so we can expect higher increases for Charlotte's Web and even Happy Feet

I think pretty much all the films will be increasing over 100% this friday or at least close to it. Usually the the two days before chistmas are some of the busiest times for films to increase that much, and last year Friday was one of them. This year its Sat and Sun, and most people are now off from School and work, Rocky, and Pursuit should see very healthy adult increases.

That's terrible for ROCKY and on the radio right now, there discussing why this movie didn't open better than what it did for a movie so good and a character so popular.. Perhaps times have changed and people are merely looking at this as ROCKY 6 and in the back of their mind, there thinking who's he gonna fight now?? Retirement?? This was bound to happen and I called it a month ago.. Now I'm 5/500 on my box office predicting.. :hahaha:

As much as I wanted it to bomb, it just isn't...yet. That is a decent hold for a Wednesday start for a film that was bound to be frontloaded to some extent. As long as it ends up north of $60 million (which is fairly certain), it won't be a "bomb" especially given the budget ... I'd actually say anything north of $50 million precludes it from being a "bomb".
