Post The Devil Wears Prada Predictions
Opens June 30 as counterprogramming to Superman Returns, stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

The ads so far look pretty amusing (just saw one during Grey's Anatomy).

I'd go with 50-60 total.

The trailer is awful, but it's good counter-programming until You, Me & Dupree comes out.

Opening Weekend: $13 million
Domestic Total: $48 million

Tons of films have romantic angles in it, but that doesn't mean women will flock to it. Hell, Garfield probably has a romantic angle, but I doubt women will go see it.

But, I forgot that The Lake House was coming out two weeks before. Not that both can't co-exist, but I think The Lake House will be bigger than The Devil Wears Prada.

Odd trailer to say the least since it just plays one scene from the film.

they need to get a trailer out for this movie pronto.

What you guys are seeing is not the trailer, its a preview from the movie.

If marketed correctly and more agressively, it could break out.
But right now its not on the ball at all.

$60M minimum.

30m-40m, but it could bomb. It doesn't appeal to that wide of an audience.

Won't be hurt by Superman, but Pirates 2 will kill it.

Preview or not, this is what people get to see in theatres currently before their movies...

Yep and therefore, it is a trailer.

The past has shown that no strong male lead in such a comedy could mean trouble. I see it open to around $10m as In Her Shoes did.

The teaser poster is pretty cool...I think that preview looks promising aswell.

With Princess 1 & 2, Brokeback Mountain & now a movie with Meryl Streep, Hathaway is going in the right career direction.

I thought this should be bumped.

Opens in a surprisingly hefty estimated 2,800+ theaters as the only opener next Friday.

Reviews are very strong so far at 80% at Rotten Tomatoes. This review from Variety (http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117930 ... =1263&cs=1) is a good example.

I really think this movie is going to do very well. The next real "chick flick" isn't until Super Ex Girlfriend about three weeks later.

In Her Shoes also had good reviews but it tanked. Chick flicks don't fly unless they have a male lead in them. It looks good but has limited appeal. Superman will kill it.

I see this doing well, with help from the holiday. Pirates will murder it nonetheless, as Pirates has a BIG female appeal.

Opening Weekend: $13 million
Total: $38 million
Multiplier: $3.0

Tracking's good. The book is pretty well-known and the marketplace isn't exactly full of female-oriented movies right now.

Opening weekend - $14.8 million

Total gross - $49 million

Might go higher, though.

It's tracking really well. I'm thinking around $17-18 million at this point.
