Routh's response was the only non-awkward one.

I think Singer wasn't really feeling awkward, but just that he didn't want to, you know, go out and say "Woohoo, way to go Pirates, you rock" and didn't really know what to say. The question was kinda stupid. How exactly do you think a person is supposed to react when another film is hugely outdoing their own film at the box office? Heh. But the reporters love to do that.

PEACE, Mike.

If Disney had balls, they would throw that quote on the Pirate's print ads.

That, and he probably thought he was there to talk about Superman Returns and not Pirates.

Heh, I almost feel bad for him. But only almost (since he left the X-Men franchise...his fault!)

Routh handled it the best.

Also, as much as Superman is a disappointment and as much as I like to lash out at it here, it is still a movie that will gross around $190 million in the States. He might feel a bit uncomfortable talking about its box-office, but image how Michael Bay would feel talking about The Island's box-office or how Wolfgang Petersen would feel talking about Poseidon. I suppose he's better off than they would be.

Its no big deal as I dont think anyone really thought Superman would outgross Pirates. Not even Singer. He shouldnt have left X Men anyway. Regardless - it still made $190m which is good, just they shouldnt have spent so much on production.

As for Routh (and i was a doubter) - I think he comes out of this whole Superman thing the best. Nobody was expecting much from him and he delivered. And when it comes to interviews he seems quite personable.

Hey, why the hell not. Superman doesn't have balls anyway, they were photoshopped out.

That's pretty much what they spent on production. It's the $50 million they spent before that (Which I don't think is as big of a problem as people are making it out to be, since they've gained, that money back from other projects. Actually it's more like evened out with the likes of Poseidon and Catwoman) and the marketing that ballooned the $$ spent. I'm not really sure I even believe the $100 million total on marketing. The biggest push I saw the film get was from Pepsi and other minor things, but I don't think it was $100 million's worth.

Superman Returns will end up a minor disappointment, but probably enough to get a sequel.

That was funny. It was like "Ahh I'd wondered if people were just not going to the movies or they didn't like mine all that much. Well at least now I know. So some closure there. Yep."

bosworth did a grreat job dodging it, routh did a great job answering it, i think singer was just like wtf why are you askiung me that?

likejackson with kong, its clear during the movie that the director didnt make th film so it wqould make money he made itto see his personal dream of the story on the screen. hence why i think when/if singer informed there wont be a sequel/he wont be returning for it, hell be very shocked cause in his mind he made a great movie n to him as the director thats all that mattered.

and yes routh comes out of the whole superman thing looking the best. then id say bnosworth and marsden tie for 2nd. routh should be a pretty major player in hollywood for years to come. hes defiently got leading man skills, look, and voice, unlike hartnett and christensen, to other unknown who were catupulted to stardom from one big movie.

HAHAHAHAHA

Brandon was fine!!! Because he knows that he will be back for a superman sequel if there is one!!!

BUT bryan HAHAHAHAHAH. I thought he almost cried. He couldn't answer anything properly lol. He knows very well that WB won't let him be the director for superman returns sequel OR he will lose all control over the superman sequel and has to go through the same process as at FOX for X1 and X2.

HAHAHAHAAH Bryan u screwed yourself big time.

It will be really funny to see him at comic con all CONFUSED and unable to answer any of the questions properly lol

I'll predict right now and confidentally as I was this movie would tank, that your not going to see a sequel for the amount of $$$ WB Loss..This franchise has been tested and it failed, plain and simple.. Like it or not, SPIDERMAN is today's SUPERMAN..
