lots of buzz here surprisingly.

Heard JJ Abrams acted like a dick on a UK radio show though.
Showed up VERY late and then wouldnt be interviewed until he had something to eat in the cafeteria.

I think he was pissed off when he came to Australia. Everyone wanted to talk to Michelle Mognahan.

The Thursday midnight show at AMC Mercado 20 is sold out, so they add another one. The 10pm Thursday show isn't yet.

He was a fun guy on The Howard Stern Show. He wouldn't answer the personal question Howard asked him, but it was fun listening to him squirm.

My theater will begin showing MI: 3 at 9:30am Friday morning, so we'll have 3-4 theater reports before lunchtime. It will be interesting to see how the real early shows do. I don't know if I'd get up and dressed for a 9:30 show, no matter what the movie.

Just came back from a midnight preview in Germany. 70 people in 550 seater, which is quite okay since the show was scheduled at the last minute and not advertised. Audience liked it a lot (80-90 % male), there was some prolonged clapping at the end, which is rare over here...

By the way, great action movie... I forgot to eat my gummi bears while watching...

We don't seem to have any midnight showings at my local AMC. There's a 10pm for tonight, and then there's all the regular listings for tomorrow. No midnight showing. Nothing's sold out.

In fact...... Whatever happened to midnight showings? There are only 3 theaters doing midnight showings, but, like, 12 doing 10pm showings. When did these 10pm things start, and do they count toward opening day? I know that 12am ones should since they're actually early on the day of opening, but 10pm on the day before shouldn't, IMHO..... And is it just this particular studio that does it, or are other ones getting in on the game, too? Do you think PotC2 might have a 10pm Thurs showing somewhere?

None of the showings here in KC are sold out at the moment. It looks like one Dickinson had a 10am showing here; no clue what that was about.

I looked at Box Office Mojo if they had a separate opening Thursday gross for V for Vendetta, but it doesn't. We may have some controversy over the Derby score like we did for Matrix: Reloaded if they don't separate the Thursday 10pm grosses from the weekend gross.

Seems like this is a new trend in box office, opening a big movie on Thursday 10pm. I already have a 10pm show scheduled for Poseidon next Thursday at my theater.

Poseidon doesn't surprise me since it's a WB film, and they love giving 10pm showings the night before opening. Although because Poseidon isn't tracking as well as expected, it'd be better to forget about 10pm showings.

No sell-outs in San Francisco for tonight yet, as of 5pm. They could just be interlocking as needed though (which would be smart).

I wonder if they are just blocking those showtimes from Internet sales so that the people that just show up at the theatre have tickets to buy? I find it strange that there are no other theatres in the area with sold out shows. Are we that much of computer geeks here in Santa Clara?

That could be. I myself was wondering about that. From movietickets.com page, all the Saturday shows for Lucky Number Slevin and Scary Movie 4 are grayed out too, and they certainly couldn't be sellouts.

Mercado actually added two more shows for Thursday: 5pm and 7pm. And the 7pm one is soldout (didn't get a chance to check before 5pm).

No sellouts here yet. The 10:00 PM showing is tracking sort of like the 10:00 PM showing for V For Vendetta we had. Sneaks normally don't sell out here weeks in advance unless it's for big time stuff (LOTR, SW, HP), though.

Post subject:  Guys and Gals. 90% of these "sold outs" aren't...

They are lockouts until they can get interlock approvals and or need to run them and in the case of some
of the 10pm shows are lockouts until they know they will have prints ready.

It is legitmately doing very well overseas where it launched in some territories on
Wednesday. Gogreen for example is in South America.
