Opens May 5th. I know, I know, MI:3 will be out and who cares, right? Well, Ghost movies have been strong lately, and I think this will see some solid business. I'm going with 8/18. |

No marketing whatsoever, 2000 theaters and it faces some of the biggest competition of the year in its first two or three weekends. I'd say that the company doesn't care if it does well or not. 6/15. |

I think it will do reasonably well considering the competition. It probably depends o the number of theaters but I think it can do a $4,000 PTA, at least. |

Who cares to see a period horror flick now? Zing's prediction seems pretty much right on. |

I saw an ad for this for the first time last night and was impressed, so I looked it up and found that over at IMDB there are 16 pages of user reviews, most of them very positive with a few disappointed. While it's possible some might be fake, that's a lot of them to fake if they are. See for yourself: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429573/use ... ts?start=0 |

If House of Wax didn't do well last year on this date with a better cast and more audience friendly plot then this won't do well. I say 4-6m/13-16m |

With the lower theatre count, it should do pretty badly. Opening weekend - $4.8 million Total gross - $11.8 million |

It did pretty mediocre in the UK....nearly $4,000 pta. But it didn't open too hot. It's going to bomb...there has been no marketing.. |

In all fairness, it is called An "American" Haunting. I wouldn't expect a film about a haunting in the U.K. to do well here, either. I still wonder why they chose to release this in May, though? |

Well AMITYVILLE HORROR and THE OTHERS both done massive numbers here, and their based in the UK. That was a really stupid comment above. Basically your saying movies set in other countries, won't do well in america. |

I don't think it will do bad opening weekend. I know quite a few people who'd like to see it. I'm sure the WOM will be really bad though. |

For a horror movie, this actually looks pretty good. Have there been any similar movies that have opened in May? I'm expecting a pretty decent PTA for this, because not everyone will want to see MI:3 - or even able to get a ticket for it. |

The trailer and premise aren't bad but I don't think the distributor will do the movie any favors. Still, Bloodrayne managed a surprisingly decent PTA, and this is PG-13. I'll go with a $4,000 PTA and 6/16 |

I still think this will do alright, maybe about what Darkness did. |

1,667 theaters this weekend. I can't see higher than a $5 million opening weekend ($3,000 PTA). Horror movies don't do well in these months anyways, and if House of Wax couldn't pull off a $4,000 PTA with tons of marketing, this won't with no marketing at all. |

But it's a lot easier to get a higher PTA in 1,667 theaters than it is in over 3000. |

I think this'll do around $4 million this weekend. I haven't seen any ads, and everyone's going to MI3 anyway. This might get some spillover from MI3 sellouts, but it won't do well. Agree with Zingy, no more than $5 million. |
