I figured I'd leave this one up to the folks that know way more about BO then me. I was curious what you guys thought Brick's potential was as far as total gross goes? It seems to have built up a pretty high buzz around film geeks and internet users, but I'm not sure if it has a wide appeal. It had a pretty great opening weekend, though. |

I expected more for the opening weekend. I mean, it's still a great opening weekend and PTA, no doubt, but with the ticket prices being $14 a piece, I thought it could pull off a $50,000+ PTA. |

Well, its not like the film had a big hook, other then a very good trailer. Most $50,000 PTAers have a lot of prerelease buzz, which this didn't really. I'd say that was pretty dang good. |

I don't see it having wide appeal. Really. I see a total below $10 million since I doubt it'll get a big expansion. |

I don't know, I think it has potential appeal to teenagers, being a highschool movie. Still, Focus would have to really score some great word of mouth from that demographic. Then again, a lot of the indie folks could be joined by older audiences interested in a detective/noir film... Honestly, I'd agree that it probably won't pass 15 million (although I think Focus could easily grab 10 million if they don't drop the ball), but it does have some break out potential if the cards fell into place. |

I was expecting better as well. It should expand with some success, but I think it will end near 8m unless Focus really pushes it with TV spots. |

I don't think Focus is convinced it has a broad appeal. It's in 21 screens this weekend. Any predictions? |

Fairly limited, I'd say. Probably no more than $5-6M. I may see it at the E-Street theater in DC tomorrow. |

Brick - $196,000 +134.5% $314,000 So, the second weekend was pretty disappointing, then? The PTA seems kinda low at $9,333. |

Definitely disappointing. Looks like Libs' projection might be right on. This will be another Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I suppose. |

Well, looking back at cult classics that flopped in theatres, but became cults (Donnie Darko, The Boondock Saints and now possibly Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), I LOVED them all. So here's hoping for another one. |

I have a feeling you'll enjoy it. Boondock Saints is one of those films I've been meaning to see for what seems like forever now. I'll check it out ASAP. |

I think at best this will do THIRTEEN numbers. It should do quite a bit better on DVD though. |
