After watching the Simpson's teaser trailer, it is pretty obvious that they were spoofing the most recogniziable movie that is coming out this summer. However, it got me thinking and that is...When is the full Superman trailer coming out? Does anyone else think that maybe the absense of a full trailer will hurt Superman Returns this summer? Just idea i am throwing out there, if you don't like it you can just throw it back.

It'll be attached to Poseidon, along with Lady in the Water, hopefully.

when your w.b. and have 2 or more big huge blockbusters every season, you can aford to just put with your own. its a cycle.

potter trailer with troy, oceans 12th with potter, batman with 12, charlie/chocloate with batman, potter with charlie/chocolate, v for vendetta with potter, poseidon with v for vendetta, superman iwth posiedon, lady in water with superman, happy feet with superman.

it goes on and on.

Even so, those films had a trailer about 4months before it was released, here we are 2 months away and still nothing. Its all, "Putting on the costume was intimidating" "He captured Reeve in him" I want to see something. Its a $200 million marketing campaign, twice as much as most blockbusters, I hope its more than every other tv spot is for Superman teh week it opens. Hell 40 million probably went to Rolling Stones and USA Today saying Superman is the most anticipated film. Its King Kong all over again.

It's a daring new marketing strategy...

I meant that I hope Lady in the Water is attached to Poseidon as well.

how is this at all like king kong? this wil be shorter and has a summer release. had kong had a summer release, like say, may6th of last year, it woulda grossed damn near 250 million or more. not just 217.

Keep telling yourself that, but a 3 1/2 hour long film that is looking for Oscars has been proven to do better in the winter months. I'm not saying its King Kong, I'm saying there is all this internet hype that just isn't there in real life. It will maybe open higher than King Kong, as of now I see 65 million at the most. then its anybody's guess.

Just because Superman isn't over three hours doesn't mean people won't be able to find something to complain about to keep them from seeing it. From the description of the new trailer, it sounds like we're waiting to be dissapointed. I mean, I honestly can't see Superman not being something of an underperformer. Right now I'm just wondering exactly how much of one we're talking about.
