ATL is getting good screen counts around here. I think it will do at least $10M, probably higher.

Just saw ATL today... wasn't great, but I can definitely see it finding a big teen African American audience ala You Got Served. Im thinking it could come close to $10 million this weekend, too

I think it's kind of pessimistic putting BI2 into two tiny theatres...I expect that they're going to sell out fast and you're going to have to move them, maybe even by Friday night.

From notfabio at HSX:

ICEA2 is off to a great start, I won't have actual numbers until late this evening, but a 15+ Friday
is in the bag.

ATL is also doing well though it is insanely early for this kind of film.

BASC2 and SLTHR so far are showing to crowds of um a bakers dozen..so yeah...but their make it or break it biz will be tonight.

I was surprised at first to see the first Ice Age only had a 3.37 IM, but then I realized it's released during spring break time, so this one should be even higher. It probably only needs a $19M Friday for a $70M weekend.

A higher internal multiplier than both Robots and the original Ice Age? I'm expecting about a 3.4-3.5 mulitplier, close to the original internal. It would need 20M minimum IMO to get 70m on OW.

So far though, 55m OW is a lock. Should easily break 16m on OD according to some early reports and yahoo reviews.

Both Robots and Ice Age were release during mid-March, and as I mentioned, that's the main spring break week.

Author:  zingy [ Fri Mar 31, 2006 4:44 pm ]
Post subject:

I think the multiplier will be similar to Robots, which had a 3.64 IM. Robots opened a week before Spring Break (for me, atleast) last year, and the same goes for Ice Age II. It'll need a $16.5 million opening day for $60 million this weekend.

Slither
2:25 p.m.: 200-seat theater (just me :P)

The film's a little slow in terms of getting going... in fact, the first half drags a little too much. But once the worms appear, it's a total blast. The final shot had me grinning from ear-to-ear.

I also peaked into Ice Age: The Meltdown, which was 70% full in a 200-seater. Trailers were Hoot (some talking), Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties (some talking), and The Simpsons Movie (lots of talking).

I've found one sell-out of Ice Age: The Meltdown so far (the 7:00 show at the Regal Square Stadium 14 in NYC). Hopefully there will be many more.
