It doesn't take itself seriously at all. Looks like it'll be a fun movie for late August.

15/40.

The trailer was really too choppy and stuff for it to be known it was making fun of itself. I don't, it seemed waay to serious. Add some laughs and you've got a hit.

Right now it's looking for an Eight Legged Freaks total:

$17,322,606

The guy freaking whipped another guy on the head with a snake!!
The one guy almost used a snake as a freaking oxygen mask!
Freaking Samuel L Jackson said "I have had it with these snakes"!

Maybe it was the quality of the video, but you couldn't tell what was happening very well.

When has a purposely-campy movie ever done well, exception of Scary Movie?

Did you see the part where this one person also tried to pepperspray a snake?

My screenwriting teachers said that they got a look at the script. It says this could be a huge hit because they said the script was great. Could be a sleeper. They are saying it is.

It should do about the same thing eight legged freaks did.

No, it'll do better than 8 Legged Freaks cause of Jackson and the huge amount of buzz the movie has had since it was announced. My earlier prediction was me being facetious, but I'd go 20/50 on this one.

I've been hearing buzz about this. At least you know what you're getting, even just by the title.

It looks INSANELY RIDICULOUS. Like, seriously, the most idiotic movie I've seen in forever. It will probably do well just because of that.

With all of the plane movies out (Flightplan, RedEye, United 93 and Snakes on a Plane) maybe it's time to revive the Airplane! franchise. :)

The trailer was awful and the CGI is laughable.

Doubt it will touch a $30M total.

I wouldn't be surprised if this reached 100 million... and I'm serious, really..

the trailer makes the whole thing look even more laughable...

The "trailer" people have seen is not a trailer, but an assembly of rough, unfinished footage of the film - Probably put together for some insider presentations. It wasn't released by the studio, instead it leaked to internet against their will.

The actual trailer will be out in a month or so.

That should be the trailer though.

The third weekend of August has been surprisingly very strong for the past 3 years. A campy film like this will especially do well, with the fun factor.

$24 m/$70 m
