Great for National Treasure as well. Both National Treasure and SpongeBob are getting plenty of screens per theater too. Look like a solid weekend for the top 5. |

This is the first time since August 11 - 13 that we have 4 films in over 3000 theaters at the same time. |

I expected The Incredibles to lose theatres. Seriously, the family/kiddie flicks competition is humongous. 10545 theatres only for Spongebob, The Polar Express and The Incredibles! 
Neat for National Treasure. However, it is sad to see SAW losing so many theatres. Oh well, Halloween is history. PS: Is The Grudge getting the Christmas with the Kranks sneaks? |

However, I don't think a release strategy like that is good for this type of film especially since it's opening on Thanksgiving weekend. |

Well, I don't trust this estimated theatre count. It's like when they said 2400+ for After the Sunset and 2500 for National Treasure. Both ended up getting hundreds of theatres more. I see around 3100 theatres for Alexander. |

Nah, I see more around 2,800 for Alexander. I hope it can have more to really get it's full potential on opening weekend. Looks fantastic. |

Last year's "oscar epics" were Master and Commander and The Last Samurai. The former got 3101 theatres, the latter 2908. Looks like Alexander's will be closer to The Last Samurai's. By the way, with another two huge releases next weekend, I wonder what movies will have the biggest theatre drops. My guesses are: The Grudge, SAW and Seed of Chucky, all the horror flicks entering the holiday season. |

Well, they are not occupying separate theaters, but screens within the same theater, :wink: but I know what you're saying. The competition is fierce. Especially since most of these movies have many screens, it is so...unusual. I mean The Polar Express, The Incredibles and Spongebob all have more than one screen at most theatres. That basically means that each theatre has up to 50% (or even more) of their screens occupied with family/kiddie movies. On the other hand there are also three horror movies that were in last weekend's TOP 10: Seed of Chucky, The Grudge and SAW. In other words, it all bodes very well for National Treasure and Bridget Jones as older audienes probably don't want to see all the forror films and are also not that eager to see all the animated movies, therefore, the two big remaining pictures, National Treasure and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason will seem as a natural choice. |

Glad to see National Treasure getting over 3000+ theatres. If it wasn't for the huge competition from The Polar Express comnied with Spongebob, The Incredibles would definitely have not lost theatres in its third weekend. |

Relieved to see that CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS will get over 3,000 theatres. The poster roaster guy at Joblo predicts it will make less than Surviving Christmas, ass hole. Nice for all new openers, and bridget. |

Watched it last night... while it will make more than Surviving just due to the fact its Tim Allen and Jamie Lee...look for it to go down hard after opening, as the movie IMO is worse than Surviving, its a really bad movie...but that could just be me *shrug* |
