 Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 I think it'll at least match balboa numbers now. People seem to be loving it across the board, even if it is just redoing part V, but obviously in a much more mainstream way. Plus it seems Stallone had a hand in writing his character as he should, as well as the fight scenes. They do look great.
I'm stoked after the 2nd trailer

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 I don't see any reason why this shouldn't breakout. It looks appealing, has a solid amount of online buzz, and while reviews might not be amazing the WOM from early screenings is that it's definitely a crowd-pleaser. I'm not expecting anything HUGE, but ending up around Rock V/Rocky Balboa's adjusted grosses shouldn't be that hard.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 Reviews are out and it's being called the best since the 1976 original. Also Sly is getting a lot of raves. It's nice to see that they made this movie out of respect and passion to the original and not for just another cash grab.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 I've only seen the first Rocky movie once a few years ago, wasn't a huge fan, haven't seen the sequels and am not even a big Stallone fan in general.
But this movie is FANTASTIC, one of the year's best films and Stallone more than deserves the acclaim and awards buzz. The biggest surprise of the year for me. It is going to be a huge word of mouth hit.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 I am seriously debating on whether or not I should even bother trying to rewatch the older films, which I haven't seen in forever. I've never been the biggest Rocky fan either, but I don't know how many nods/references I just won't get. Maybe, it will be better if I just wait until after I see Creed, especially if I end up loving it.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 Good reviews coming out for the film, praising the cast and some even pointing out Stallone for Oscar consideration.
I think this will be the only true breakout out for Thanksgiving along with The Good Dinosaur.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 This has mega breakout all over it. I'm a big Rocky fan so am bias but the reviews are out of this world with some saying Stallone is even better than the original Rocky.
Apparently he may be the one to beat now for best supporting actor. This is a big surprise. Nostalgia + underperforming market + great reviews + holidays + cross demo audience = OVERPERFORMANCE

I've only seen the first and I think as long as you know the basic structure of that film's storyline you'll be fine. There are a few references here and there for longtime fans of the franchise based on my understanding but this is very much a standalone story.
