Fuc* this.. Hills will make 5 mil on Friday ALONE... If anything a scene like that will hurt it's overall gross... not the OW... Pwned! Twice in one night!!!
Um, seriously, you need to get over yourself cause you've really Pwned no one, but whatever helps you sleep at night I suppose.. As for my 5 Million prediction clown, it was sarcasm more than anything for the simple fact that I don't condone rape no matter what movie it is and after hearing this was in the movie, I'm completely turned off by it.. I'm sure it will do well this weekend, but come on already..

Fuc* this.. thats a pretty big change there, just because its getting bad reviews doesnt mean its going to do VERY bad on its opening weekend like Chip said it will effect its overrall gross and it will prolly make $5M on friday
Rape is something that I'm completely turned off by and giving this movie 5 Million down from 25 Million was more my venting of a film I was actually looking forward to before I read that and as a result, I'm willing to give this the lowest box offuice number possible just because of it.. In other words: Obviously, I know it will make more than 5 Million but come on already..

Shaggy Dog is still on neither Moviefone or the Yahoo Buzz Chart. It's a kids film, but for the supposed biggest movie of the year so far on Thursday night? Pink Panther didn't have that problem.
I'm still not convinced. This is Tim Allen, who isn't exactly a big draw.
And btw, Hills is #1 and FTL is #4 on moviefone.

BTW, I'm skipping the derby this weekend (and probably for a while) due to personal issues.

What the....? It seems weird that personal issues would prevent you from playing the derby. It can't be too good, then. Best of luck, xiayun. I'm disappointed such an amazing player is dropping out, but it's obviously the good thing.
PEACE, Mike.

Final predictions
The Shaggy Dog - 19.6 million
Hills Have Eyes - 19.2 million
Failure to Launch - 18.7 million
16 Blocks - 7.4 million
Eight Below - 6.7 million
Madea's Family Reunion - 5.3 million
Aquamarine - 4.5 million
Pink Panther - 4.3 million
Ultraviolet - 3.6 million
The Libertine - 3.2 million
Dave Chappelle's Block Party - 2.8 million
Decided to go for all or nothing on Shaggy Dog. I give it a $5600 PTA, which isn't bad, but unimpressive considering the tracking and expectations.
Hills Have Eyes has the most buzz from what I can tell, I give it a Saw I-like $7700 average for a great weekend.
Failure to Launch should do fine, I changed my mind about it a bit. People need a cute and fun romantic comedy, and that one area is where McCaugheney has had his one uber-hit. SJP and Terry Bradshaw don't hurt either.
I know I'm taking a risk predicting away from the consenseus on all 3, so for that reason I think this will make me or break me. I'll either get back in the game to fix my slumping, or I'll have a huge rip in my comeback attempt.
As for the holdovers...
16 Blocks drops nicely like Firewall.
Chapelle, Ultraviolet, and Madea's all bomb fall as expected.
Eight Below, Pink Panther, have solid if not unspectacular holds due to Shaggy Dog competition for EB and -700 theatre loss for Pink Panther.
Aquamarine holds up nicely but not spectacular.
I can't believe we're predicting the Libertine, I was unaware of that until tonight. I've been seeing some ads and I think Depp has some pull, so I give it a fair $4000 PTA, hanging around the derby average. Hope it doesn't kill me.
Edit - Lowered Ultraviolet a bit to my original gut of -60%

By personal issues, I don't mean something horrible, but I'd like to take some time off to recharge myself. It's not because of my recent form either, although I'd certainly have liked to see myself doing better. Winning last year took a lot of out of me, so were some of other recent developments (such as getting a lot busier at the moment). I'd rather focus myself on writing articles for the site for the spare time I can find as well as try some different thinkings. I know it only takes 5 minutes to copy them to derby, but, anyway. Maybe I'll come back with a fresh new strategy.

4. Eight Below - $7.1 million

This week, I deliberately went with my gut and ignored the consensus here (although they were pretty much the same). Hope I do better...

My derby predictions.
Shaggy Dog - 28.6m ($8200 pta)
The Hills Have Eyes - 17.6m ($6700 pta)
Failure to Launch - 13.8m ($4500 pta)
16 Blocks - 6.6m (-44%)
Madea's Family Reunion - 5.8m (-54%)
Eight Below - 5.7m (-44%)
Aquamarine - 4.2m (-44%)
Pink Panther - 3.8m (-45%)
Ultraviolent - 3.3m (-64%)
Libertine - 3.0m ($3600 pta)
Top Ten cume - 92.4m
The worse Shaggy Dog can do is Snow Dogs pta.
The Hills Have Eyes should get similar ptas Final Destination 3.
Failure to Launch will be in the same area as Must Love Dogs, Wedding Planner and Fever Pitch.
Libetine will do Casanova numbers.
The kid pics will fall a bit more thanks to Shaggy.

Shaggy - 24.6
Failure to Launch - 20.6
Hills Have Eyes - 17.7
16 Blocks - 7.1
8 Below - 6.1
Medea's - 5.4
Aquamarine - 3.7
Pink Panther - 3.4
Libertine - 1.7
I wish we were predicting Block Party. It will certainly be more interesting to see how that drops then 16 Blocks or Ultraviolet.

I think Failure to Launch will do better than many of you.
Libs should be ashamed to call herself a romcom fanboy after her prediction. (the term fangirl just doesn't have the same bite)
