Hmm, I wonder if New Moon will eventually make it to 4 million admissions with two more Twilight films ahead to be paired with...

10,876,374 admissions for Avatar so far

Sex and the City 2 which rose 1% in its 8th week and brought its total to 2,474,212 admissions, beating the first film's 2,473,566 admissions. Terrific performance!

Shrek Forever After is at 1,416,933 admissions after three weeks, WAY behind the first three films. Looks like Sex and the City 2 will actually end up with a higher admissions number!

To be fair, SH4 had extremely bad luck with the weather...

Finally the marketplace is filling up. This weekend Knight andDay and The Karate Kid are hitting the theatres. Both are quite wide releases and should do well.

On top of that, this looks to be a fairly rainy weekend, so that we should see small drops/increases from most holdovers.

Hmmm, looks like KARATE KID will be a hit in Europe too. Germany leads the wave of first European openings and it looks like it'll beat ECLIPSE's 2nd weekend...

Is there any tiny chance for Toy Story 3 to open 10m+?

Can someone provide OW tracking for previous Pixar?

Here are the Top 5 opening weeks of Pixar. Unfortunately TS1 & TS2 are the least successful Pixar movies in Germany after CARS...

Post Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Weekend Estimates
That was such a refreshingly big weekend coming off the World Cup drought...but next weekend will be huge. Weather looks to be movies-friendly and we've got Toy Story 3 and Inception opening. Both should manage 500,000+ admissions starts.

Oh and it looks like Prince of Persia might have spent another weekend in the Top 10 (would be its 10th!). Germany should end up as one of the film's biggest markets.

Great weekend overall.

Eclipse did held well in Germany even with an expected 50% drop. TKK and K&D did good. Shrek is building some legs everywhere now that WC is over. Surprised at Marmaduke a little

Waiting in the queue are TS3 and Inception that is going to be a very good week for Germany eh ;)

Mark/Lecter,
What are your predictions for OW/total for TS3/inception?

I'm thinking around 580,000 admissions opening weekenf for Toy Story 3 and probably around 2.9-3.1 million in total.

Inception should manage 650,000-700,000 admissions in its opening and over 2.5 million admissions in total. They should behave somewhat similarly to Hancock/Kung Fu Panda which also opened on the same weekend...only on a tad smaller scale.

I am surprised that we are still getting admissions for Avatar there so late in the run. How many theaters is it running and in which format ?
