92.2% of admissions was in 3D (7.8% 2D). I'm willing to bet that 95% of the opening day gross was from 3D while 2D only made 5%.

The weekend here in Holland should be nothing short of (relatively ) massive. I planned to go this weekend with a couple of friends, but we postponed it till next weekend because everything was sold out.

 Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.) - $43.6m + $50
My Review:Loved it, i would have to say it's probably my favourite Harry Potter movie out of the entire 8 movies. After the boring (to me) first part, this one has truly redeemed in every possible way **Potential Spoilers for those who haven't seen it**Firstly, this movie moved at a cracking pace and from start to finish, never really let up (unlike Part 1). There were awe inspiring momments (that dragon escape scene at Gringotts was superb and the momment the teachers cast the spell over Hogwarts with Aberforth Dumbledore vs. Dementors); these are all scenes which made a strong impact outside of the core scenes). They really improved the SFX in this one and the sense of nostalgia was very palpable. It's a case of giving the fans what they want. I loved Snape in this and how they presented his whole story arc, one of the highlights. Also, the fighting in this was quite well done; from pretty much everyone. That scene of Snape vs. McGonagall at the start was spine tingling yet melancholic in so many ways. Intense stuff and makes it harder to watch when you know that Snape was not evil. Of particular surprise (though hinted at in the trailer) was Mrs. Weasley, you go girl, kill that bitch. I liked how that paced the movie and mixed scenes really well. These are all wizard fights we've been dying to see from the past few films i think (they captured part of it in HBP with Dumbledore vs. Voldermort). This movie has all shades of emotion and truly resonated with me.I must say though that while i was very emotional in some scnes, i didn't exactly cry in any one of them (though i got damn close in that very last scene of our three heroes watching their kids on the train). . The music in this was superb and very poignant. That new theme (which plays over the dragon escape scene) was pretty gut renching and a sign of things to come. They brought back all the major themes developed from the first movie which adds to the nostalgia and deepness you feel for the characters. They weren't played in small bits, there were some hero music momments when they truly let rip which was fantastic. The acting of all three leads have improved leaps and bounds, to the point where you're just lost in the story. I don't have any real criticisms of the movie, just minor quibbles which is squashed by the full weight of the movie. I still think they could've amped the fighting at the end between Voldermort and Harry, it was a few big blasts at the end and seemed to go by so quickly. It almost seems as though if it wasnt for the Elder Wand and the protection of his horcruxes, he could've been defeated by just about any good wizard - not just Harry. But that's just me. I also felt the Dementors were underused in this movie and defeated too easily. They are pretty vicious creatures and would've loved to see them suck out some souls before being sent to kingdom come by Aberforth. The giant trolls were a good addition, though surely the dark lord has more creatures working for him then just trolls and spiders. . The makeup at the end was quite laughable (though probably part of the charm....and much better than had they've gone for totally different people like Narnia) but was saved by the emotional pounding arc of coming full circle. Overall, It didn't move me the same way ROTK did with each of its endings, perhaps i was expecting too much there. The scene with them on the bridge before the fade out was slightly slow and felt unresolved to me. This is truly the franchise of our times and while it may not be the best overall, it's very hard to keep audiences intrigued for a decade and still deliver the goods. Harry Potter deserves a big clap and that's what he got in our cinema showing today. Well done Harry, Well done 9.5 / 10--- I saw a 3pm Saturday showing, which was about 85-90% Full, the first few rows were empty. My only gripe about seeing Potter in cinemas (and on opening weekend and during school holidays) is that you watch it with little kids who talk and make too much noise. I was also unfortunate enough to see with some weird guy who was talking gibberish to himself (i.e. how there's too many ads and such beforehand). Thankfully, he wasn't talking throughout the movie. I didn't get to see any new trailers....WTF....i was hoping for the The Dark Knight Teaser or at least Sherlock Holmes 2.....what did we get, the latest trailer from Rise of the Planet of the Apes (lame), Captain America (no interest) and Green Lantern (which i swear i've seen at every single movie i've been to this season (Thor, Pirates, X-Men, Transformers). WTF. Where those four movies failed to truly impress and tip you over the edge.....Potter did it, finally, a very good movie for 2011.

Part 1 was pretty low considering the dollar factor, nice to see it recovering in South Korea.

Belgium: * Opening Day is the largest of all-time, $1.4m Wed is larger than even Transformers 3's entire 5-Day opening ($1.34m) * Currently OW record holder is HP6 at $3.3m
Sweden: * Opening Day is the largest of all-time, $2.1m Wednesday OD is larger than the openings of HP1 and HP2. * Current OW record holder is Arn The Knight Templar which made $5.5m over 6-Days opening. That one looks to go.
Finland: * Opening day is the largest of all-time, $749k is larger than any OW this year outside of Pirates 4's $1.7m 5-Day * Current OW record holder is Quantum of Solace's 5-Day $1.7m
Norway: * OD all-time record towers over previous movies including TTT and ROTK. $1.8m Wed OD would give it the 2nd largest OW of the year behind Pirates 4 * Pirates 4 currenlt holds the OW record at $4.7m.
Netherlands: * Improves on HP6's $1.34m with a thundering record $1.7m OD Wed * Current record OW record is held by HP6 at $4.91m 5-Day

 Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.) - $43.6m + $50
What this means is that HP7-2 is already at 1pm has officially become the 2nd largest opening day grosser of all-time in the domestic market. It's only $5m or so off Twilight: New Moon. TDK collected an additional $36.3m from this point, which if we consider that a minimum for Potter (pretty much a given since it's blitzing TDK by double up to this point) means that we'll have the very first $100m+ 1-Day gross.....$43.5m + $24m + $36.3m+ = $103.8m+ This is a lock for $100m OD and may actually get very close to $200m at this rate. Oh my God  :shoc: Midday B.O. tally of $24 mill has 'Harry' nearly doubling 3-day champ 'Dark Knight'http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118039999EXCLUSIVE: Harry Potter's next spell: take down Batman. As of 1 p.m. Pacific time Friday, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" had already collected $24 million in dayside domestic receipts (including pre-sales), running briskly ahead of three-day box office champ "The Dark Knight," which had collected $12.4 million at that same point in 2008.If "Part 2" keeps that pace through Friday evening -- nearly doubling "The Dark Knight" -- its first-day grosses (which include $43.5 in midnight sales) could far exceed $80 million, which would be a staggering opening-day record all unto itself. But the onslaught won't end there. "Dark Knight," which grossed $67.2 million on its opening day (including $18.5 million in midnights), currently holds the record for the biggest three-day domestic opening at $158 million. No way that survives the weekend. Perhaps the question at this point isn't whether "Part 2" will take the record down -- but instead, by how much? With such huge midnight numbers added to Friday's gross, "Part 2" should have a sizeable Friday-Saturday drop, though actual Friday grosses (not including midnights) should remain steady with Saturday, according to B.O. observers. That's because most adult audiences will wait until Saturday, or even Sunday, to see the pic to avoid opening-night crowds.

These numbers are astounding. It is killing Pirates in most territories. I think $1 billion overseas is no longer out of question.

 Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.) - $43.6m + $50
Australia: Day 1 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $7,029,487 (US$7.44m incl. US$2.5m midnights - 58.5% 3D - 753 SC) Day 2 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $4m (US$4.2m - 59% 3D - 754 SC) (Day 2) Total = Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $11m or US$11.7m
* HP7-2's 2nd day Thursday is actually on par with HP7-1's opening day of $4m last year. * At this same point HP5 made $7,385,466 ($4,102,282 Wed + $3,283,184 Thu). It's obviously a steeper drop for HP7-2 due to the midnights. It was almost $3m behind on opening day, though only $0.72m behind on Thursday. * If it maintains the same lead over OOTP, it's looking at a $19m 4-Day and $25.5m 5-Day. I expect...which will give it both 4-day and 5-day records. * It all rests now on the weekend increases, OOTP dropped to $3.2m on Friday before rebounding to $3.3m Saturday and dropping to $3.1m on Sunday. * At this point, i'm seeing an opening day anywhere between $18-20m 4-Day, the record is in the bag.
Germany: Day 1 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $5.3m (77% 3D p/v - 1641 TC) Day 2 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $4.2m (€3m – 69% 3D - 1641 SC) - Thu Total = Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $9.5m (€6.6m - $5.3m Wed + $4.2m Thu) * HP6 currently holds the OW record at $23.85m (4-Day), followed by ROTK's $23.25m (5-Day or $17.75m 4-Day) and HP7-1's $23.015m with previews or $20m 4-Day. * HP7-2 will take down all of these surely

92.2% of admissions was in 3D (7.8% 2D). I'm willing to bet that 95% of the opening day gross was from 3D while 2D only made 5%. HONG KONG - Opening WeekendThis is what i have for opening day Hong Kong, not sure if it's all accurate..... Bluebomb, you thoughts? Spiderman 3 - $958,984 (HK$7.5m) Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World’s End - $874,000 (98) Harry Potter 4: GOF - $829,388 (or $349,556 without 3-Day p/v - 68) Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $790,625 (92.2% 3D) Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon - $773,188 (incl. Transformers 3 OD is wrong. I made a typo. I put Transformers 3's 3D gross as its OD. Quote: Tuesday (Late-night and midnights):
2D - $2,569 3D - $61,284 Total - $63,853
Wednesday (Opening Day):
2D - $75,417 3D - $633,918 Total - $709,335

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.) - $173m+ WW
France: Day 1 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $7.1m (1195 – 67% 3D - Wed) Day 2 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $4.8m (€3.4m - 1195 SC) Total = Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $11.9m (€8.5m Wed + Thu)
* Of the markets which have been releasd and numbers available, France stands as the largest grossing market for Potter after two days. It held considerably better on Thursday here then it did in Australia (which was the strongest market on Wednesday) * $11.9m over 2-Days is enough for HP7-2 to claim this year's 3rd largest opening weekend with Nothing To Declare $23m and Pirates 4 $16.64m ahead of it. * Current OW record holder is Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’tis at $36.6m over 6-day opening, it also holds the 5-Day record at $31.7m. * Current OW record for the franchise is held by HP7-1 at $20.73m 5-Day and Potter has more than half of that with 3-Days to go. * At this rate HP7-2 has a very good chance go hitting $30m+ 5-Day, with a shot at the OW record.
Russia: Day 1 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $4.12m (Wed) Day 2 - Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $3.892m (Thu) Total = Harry Potter 7-2: DH - $8.1m (Rbl 228m - $4.2m Wed + $3.892m Thu – 1561 SC)
* Pretty hold on Thursday, perhaps the best out of the markets which opened on Wednesday. * It's closest competitor, Pirates 4 made $10.2m ($5m Wed + $5.2m Thu) after 2-Days. Potter tracking $2.1m behind with 3-Days to go. * Pirates 4 holds the OW record at $31.4m 5-Day and also the 4-Day record of $26.7m. Transformers 3 comes in 2nd at $21.965m and $16.945m. * HP7-2's opening day of $4.12m was just slightly behind Transformers 3's $4.2m and unfortunately, i don't have a 2nd day for Transformers 3 to compare.....though that's the target for the weekend. * Pirates 4's OW record is probably untouchable; however, Potter may take the #2 spot above Transformers 3.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.) - $175m+ WW
Finale breaks record for day with $92.1 mil Statesidehttp://www.variety.com/article/VR1118040006The domestic box office is spellbound by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2." The Warner Bros. release grossed $92.1 million Stateside last night, the largest Friday take of all time. Friday's figure saw a significant boost from Thursday's midnight haul of $43.5 million, another domestic record-setter. Already "Harry Potter" is dismantling benchmarks set by another popular fantasy franchise: "Twilight." The previous Friday record of $72.7 million was set by "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," and the previous Thursday midnight record of $30 million was held by "Eclipse." But the big prize, highest domestic 3-day gross, is property of another Warner Bros. franchise -- "The Dark Knight" grossed $158 million in 2008. "Harry Potter" is currently outpacing the Batman sequel by $24.9 million, but that isn't a guaranteed victory. Because of "Harry Potter's" magically boffo bow, WB says it anticipates up to a 50% Friday-to-Saturday drop off as fans rushed out to see it on opening night. However, older auds tend to avoid the Friday rush, which means some fans who have matured with the series could be waiting for Saturday and Sunday to see the latest, and could likewise cushion "Potter's" percentage fall. Still, B.O. observers are already claiming a new record in "Potter." One rival studio expects "Part 2" to make close to $195 million through Sunday.Of its series high 4,375 locations, more than 68% are in 3D.-- Well unlike some other reports, looks like 3D sales were quite healthy 68%, isn't this higher than Transformers 3?
