Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: 4th week at #1 for SATC2!
If I remember correct it made about 7000 admissions this week. That would mean without any drops it will need about 19 more weeks. Not sure if it can make that 11m mark.

Shrek Forever After opens here next Wednesday. That means that all 3D releases will lose most of their 3D screens.
I've gotta see Avatar again before then.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: 4th week at #1 for SATC2!
This weekend is going to be terrible for the box-office here. Germany's match is on Sunday at 4 pm meaning that we'll barely see any business on Sunday. Last match (Wednesday at 8:30 pm) was seen by over 29 million people here (not including public viewings!) - I expect the upcoming one to be seen by 30 million at least.
On top of that the very warm summer finally started.
So yeah, all movies are going to die.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Weakest weekend of the year?
Sex and the City 2 will top the 5th weekend in a row, looking at 75,000 admissions this weekend which wll bring its total number of admissons to around 2.3 million.
No other movie will even top 50,000 admissions, it seems.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Weakest weekend of the year?
What the hell ? this is like the highest admissions market for SATC2. For such a poor movie 5 weeks in a row is freakin' awesome. Interesting pattern....why the hell are people not interested to see any other movie??

What other movies? The distributors basically gave up on June because of the World Cup...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Weakest weekend of the year?
Weekend estimates:
1. Sex and the City 2 - 60,000 admissions (2,305,000 admissions in total - still 300,000+ admissions above the first film) 2. Hanni & Nanni - 45,000 admissions 3. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - 40,000 admissions 4. StreetDance 3D - 35,000 admissions
Yeah...WC and hot weather killed the box-office.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: SATC2 leads in its 5th weekend
Darn Germany too much of WC effect. No one is ready to release any movies around and what happened to PoP I thought that could have taken the biggest advantage of the WC but this is going the other way around when compared to SATC2.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: SATC2 leads in its 5th weekend
Prince of Persia benefits from it a lot as well, just not as much as SATC2 because of the demographics issue. Prince of Persia will end up with a multiplier around 5 which is great for this kind of a film.
Especially since Robin Hood and Iron Man 2 are not even passing the multiplier of 3...
Sex and the City 2 is bigger in admissions, but PoP will end up having the better multiplier.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: SATC2 leads in its 5th weekend
To be fair, ROBIN HOOD and IRON MAN 2 opened on a rainy weekend while PERSIA opened on a sunny weekend - that skews the multiplier...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Shrek Forever After new #1!
Shrek Forever After will top the weekend with BY FAR the worst admissions-wise opening of the series.
Sex and the City 2 is looking at 40,000 admissions this weekend at #2 in its sixth week. Will be above 2,350,000 admissions by the end of the weekend.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Shrek Forever After new #1!
Weekend estimates:
Shrek Forever After - 475,000 admissions (5-day) Sex and the City 2 - 35,000 admissions Hanni & Nanni - 35,000 admissions Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - 30,000 admissions
Looks like no other film got more than 20,000 admissions.
Prince of Persia is getting close to Robin Hood in admissions. Not sure whether it overtook Robin Hood this weekend, but it will do so next weekend at latest. A 1.55 million admissions finish seems likely, meaning a multiplier around 4.9.

How many movies in the Top 10 had less than 10,000 admissions this weekend?

Don't have all the numbers yet, but probably at least one, maybe up to three...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Shrek Forever After new #1!
One as it turns out - Iron Man 2. #10 with less than 8,000 admissions.
It is amazing to see A Nightmare on Elm Street in the Top 10 after seven weeks!
Sex and the City 2 is at 2,380,677 admissions now. The first one had 2,473,566 in total, so it'll be overtaken pretty soon. A terrific performance overall, considering it decreased in many markets. Looks like it'll definitely land in the Top 10 of the year (the first one missed it just barely, landing at #11).
