No,the SUPERMAN RETURNS Reviews weren't legit since everyone of them sprayed cum and gushed over the movie without even reviewing it, without so much as any negative criticism to counteract the Positive and you know what??I WAS RIGHT YOU NERD.. Look what happened when the REAL Reviews for SR came out and the movie actually sucked massive donkey balls and is luky to make it to 190 Million.. At least with the reviews for MIAMI VICE so far the reviewers(legit or not)give the movie actual criticism and don't overly gush like they did SR.. Don'tmatch wits with me young man..I'll take your Nintendo "WEE" away and smash it..

This is quite funny. Who would want to lower themselves to that level, BKB?

I wonder if this movie becomes a hit if they might make a sequel. I doubt it, doesn't seem their style with Mann and Farrell especially. But never underestimate how people's minds can change if offered a lot of money.

Eh, it'd need to make a WHOLE lot to become that much of a hit and I doubt it. They never made a S.W.A.T. sequel and that film ended up more profitable than this one will, I think.

The reviews seem to be overly positive for this one and I think it will be a good contrats to all the comedies and lighthearted films out there, so I definitely see the biggest opening in Mann's career and okay-ish legs throughout August.
Opening weekend - $35.3 million
Total gross - $110 million

Hollywood reporter just slammed it.
The picture takes a stylistic cue from his previous film, "Collateral," also lensed by Beebe. But where that L.A. nocturne so effectively ratcheted up the tension, "Miami Vice" merely ratchets up the pretension, with too many potentially explosive sequences just ending up hanging there like the Florida humidity.
Hopefully that will be the minority opnion, this summer needs a movie like this to not suck.

His main complaints are:
1. It's not completely loyal to the TV show
2. "Miami Vice" just doesn't go anywhere interesting.-----Not really sure what he's talking about there
3. Music
4. No chemistry between the actors
5. Dialogue
I'm not really sure what to think of this review. It's so basic and seems to be written with such little thought.

The review is troubling, but it may just betray the reviewer's taste rather than anything truly problematic. The show was always about style over substance, so those portions of his complaints can actually be discounted - as long as the style is actually there. I'd be more concerned about the comments that seem to point at the Crockett-Tubbs relationship not working well in the film than anything else in it. That and its implication that there may be a paucity of good action. However, as Speevy notes above, its not a very detailed review so we probably need others to figure out anything meaningful.
If all the reviews really end up complaining about is that this is style over substance, that is nothing to be concerned with - that's what the show was.

Movietickets.com says the running time is 2 hours and 26 minutes. I thought the running time was going to be like 2 hours and 10 minutes?

Yahoo has it listed at 2 hours and 15 minutes but Fandango has it listed at 2 hours and 26 minutes, so I don't know. Most have it listed at 2 hours and 26 minuts though.

Honestly, I thought COLLATERAL sort of Blew when I first saw it, basically for too much Dialogue and not enough action, but through the course of time and CINEMAX beating this movie to death, it's grown on me..

Colin Farrell can't make a hit to save his life. Not post-Alexander, at least.

Farrell REALLY needs to change his personality in the media, I mean jeez, the mouth on that guy. Every other word out of his mouth is Fuck or Shit, I mean I guess thats okay in your sex tapes but not on freakin Good Morning America. You lose audiences by having a vile personality.
