I clicked for my grade but it never saved the info. So I don't know what is going on.

Well I didn't check earlier this morning but here are the totals now:
The Incredibles: 1743 (A-)
Alfie: 263 (B-)
Maybe some of the vets can guess what it ended at yesterday based on how well openers typically do on Sat. mornings but based on my limited knowledge of Sat. morning behaviour i'd say we might be looking at 1400-1500 for The Incredibles and 220-240 for Alfie.

That sounds right. 20M fit right in with The Incredibles, and I'd have projected lower for Alfie than its actual Friday numbers, but the ratio of 110 is understandable considering its audience.

Hopefully Yahoo will actually work tomorrow for Polar Express. This one should be predictable. It's released on Wednesday, and it isn't as saturated as Shrek 2(or The Incredibles or Shark Tale for that matter), but it's not a sequal either, so a standard ratio of 80-100 should apply.

The Wednesday opening should increase the ratio, but many people are off for the day, so the effect won't be as great as it otherwise would have been. I'll go with 70-90.
I certainly hope that yahoo will work!

At least the first user-written review for Polar Express is a good clean one.

These numbers, and those for Saturday show that were was something generally wrong at Yahoo this Friday. All the films actually declined from Thursday. Meanwhile, Saturday had an inflated number of reviews. This suggests that throughout this past Friday only a fraction of the reviews were being added. Most of them were not added until Saturday. I remember something similar on Spiderman's opening day. However, that problem was fixed by the afternoon rather then the next day as was the case here.

By comparison, Shrek 2 had 134 at 7:30am update and increased 61 the next hour, but that's summer, so I expect Polar Express to increase at a much smaller rate than Shrek 2 during the day. The early projection is 300-350, and that would translate to $3.5-4M. Getting 1/3 of what Shrek 2 had on its opening Wednesday will be pretty good since this is not summer, and Thursday-to-Friday increase should be even higher.

I think the increase heading into the weekend will be very weak. Last year Elf got 5.7 on Veterans Day (Tuesday) and 7.3 on the following Friday while Brother Bear earned 3.8 on Veterans Day and 2.5 on the following Friday. Two years ago The Santa Clause 2 got 4.9 on Veterans Day (Monday) and 3.6 on the following Friday, although that was against Harry Potter.
I think The Polar Express will likely decline or at most have a slight increase from Thursday to Friday.

I've had trouble getting into the thread. Anyway, the past three hours:
Polar Express 108, +11, B
Polar Express 138, +30, B- (Down)
Polar Express 156, +18, B (Up)
The trend had been for the grade to drop. So, I'm guessing it will go back to B- and stay there or go even lower. I'm suprised since I expected this to have great WOM. Perhaps it's the result of the lack of comedy, which seems essential for a successful family film.
