It dropped a bit harsh this weekend with Maleficent opening. HTTYD2 should kill this even if they are from the same studio.

It still has Australia ahead, so $350+ million is happening - which I think is fantastic for a mid-tier sequel such as this.

so this will eventually make more than the last one in OS markets good for it.

Rio 2 has now crossed the OS total of the last movie and it should make $470m-$475m WW for sure now which is damn close to what the original did. VERY good performance for such a BAD sequel.
