I really liked the movie. Hope it succeeds. Not sure how much the families and the smaller children will like it. There is not much humor, it's more fantasy/action...a little dark at times.

who do you think the main audience is, if not families with kids? should this be tracking more like Hugo, that only did $73 domestic..How does a dark santa clause movie for the holidays do anywhere near $250 mm? have they started to screen it?

I can't see how this does $250M when Wreck-It Ralph is a much more accessible four-quadrant film.

It was screened a few days ago hee, yes. It's not completely dark, it's not an adult film. Just more of an action-oriented fantasy film one. There is humor, but not much. It's wonderfully done, though. Reminded me of Harry Potter at times.

Ralph is just too big at this point for Guardians to make $250m but it can still make $200m. I think Avengers breakout this year will help this movie cause it looks so much like the team-up of mythical heroes/animation heroes.

Extremely lucky if this turd gets $100m.

This will get to $100m before Hobbit comes to theaters.

Because it's sooo wide open and will basically span the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays almost uncontested I would say it has a shot at $250. It will need solid holds and a 4+ multiplier...but it could happen.

After all these years, you're still under the illusion that quality sells?

Anyone can see that this is shit, and should gross less than $40m. So it'll probably gross over $160m.

The movie still has to open over $40m for any chance at this club. I don't think it will have a multiplier over 5.
