Maybe, but looking at midnight numbers has become pretty pointless considering alot of people aren't even going to midnight showings anymore. I wouldn't be suprised if it continued to be this way until something HUGE comes out like Breaking Dawn.

Yeah I was going to say PA3 too, but with all these mixed reactions I don't even know anymore. It should be big, but the marketing needs to get alot better.

People only go to midnights for films they're really excited for. How many casuals were dying to see Cowboys & Aliens or Rise of the Planet of the Apes pre-release?

I've seen a bunch of sell-outs for The Help. Only one for Final Destination 5 but that was only 2 minutes before its showings. Also, I saw a few for Apes. None for 30 minutes or Less and Glee 3D. Based on the tracking and the sell-outs, it doesn't look like 30MOL will reach $20m this weekend unless the late showings show some improvement, Glee 3D won't do much more than a 5K, FD5 will 100% guarantee open below "FD4". If that's true for all of the new releases, The Help is guaranteed at #2.

Also,

Here's the B.O. scoop: "Apes" is on track to win with $24 mil-$27 mil, while "Help" is hugely overperforming -- at most $23 mil for 3 days.

Saw FD5 at a 11:50 showing in 3D and I was actually suprised at how packed theatre was. It wasn't completely full, but the top rows were. As for the movie it was probably one of the most fun experiances I have had in a while. The audience reactions to the deaths were great and 3D was actually really well done at certain parts. I also gotta say this one was a HUGE step up from the last. The reviews pretty much nailed it. 8/10
