 Re: Friday Estimates (BOM)
I'm getting a Minority Report/Lilo and Stitch vibe from this weekend. Minority Report was suppposed to win the weekend, Lilo and Stitch did. Spielberg was involved with both C&A and MR as well...

 Re: Friday Estimates (BOM)
Minority Report is an infinitely better film than C&A. Not that that matters on opening weekend, but I felt like saying it.

DH2 is at 303m while TF3 was at $287m on its 3rd friday and the lead is growing again with each day. Even if TF3 starts chipping away at it starting today, it's not like it's having some great late legs, those $16m is more than enough of a buffer. DH2 has it in the bag.

Yeah I see Potter making at least 360 and could make over 370.

 Re: Friday Estimates (BOM)
Harry Potter is making $370m+. It had one of the better Friday increases comparing to others; at least it improved upon previous Friday's increase like the other summer HP films did.
I'm pretty surprised how badly the holdovers performed yesterday. Yes, The Smurfs breaking out didn't help them, but in the end it's still just a $35m opener. Instead, it didn't just kill all family films, but also hurt films with 3D screens a like.

 Re: Friday Estimates (BOM)
That's a poor opening day for C&A and HUGE for Smurfs (whatever Katty Perry did or making them blue did it surely worked), I think having a new concept worked much better this year than having sequels.
CSL was actually spot on. CA did not do really well same for HP good number but could have been much better.
