 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
Hmm, I need to see a trailer first, but this really doesn't scream "huge hit" to me. Should perform somewhere along the lines of the first Fantastic Four film, I suppose, maybe a tad better.

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
Trailer is Finally Here - http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/greenlantern/. Alright I'm going to be completely honest and say while I'm still looking forward to this it doesn't look that great. I'm getting way too much of a Fantastic 4 vibe, but the fact that it's being aimed more at children will probably end up helping it the most just like those movies. I don't know, but I was really expecting something a little darker and more mature than this. :My Predictions:$55M OW/ $155M DOM

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
I would like it to make tons of money but it has a difficult way to go, Super 8, Cars 2 and Transformers 3 are direct competition so far I say 60/170

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
It may get a strong family fanbase which will help it much like Fantastic Four. $150m total is the stretch IMO.
In terms of summer comic book films - it should be ahead of Thor, slightly behind X Men and behind Captain America (which should do $170m or so).

4 minutes of WonderCon footage.....awesome. I really like the treatment this is getting. This could turn out to be a big hit. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-v ... tes-174123

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
Captain America - $60m / $170m X-Men - $55m / $150m Thor - $45m / $135m Green Latern - $40m / $135m
--
Hard to predict all 4, but CA has the biggest shot at breaking out (at least in Domestic market)....though i'm personally rooting for X-Men. The trailer is by far the best out of the lot and the actors involved gives me hope that this will not be a dissapointment like Wolverine. After X-Men (100% interest), i'm interested in seeing Thor (60% interest) then Green Latern (45% interest). Personally don't have much interest in Captain America (10% interest), looks dull and i don't like any of the actors in the movie. It'll probably do well in the US but will fail to ignite overseas (i give the edge to Thor and X-Men on that front).

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
I think the initial trailer looks cringeworthy. I wouldnt be surprised if this is the one comic book film that fails to reach $100m. Right now I see $38/$90m.

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
Well the reviews just starting pouring in today and as you would expect the critics are completely trashing it. When all is said and done it will probably have some the worst reviews for a big budget superhero film since Fantastic Four or Ghost Rider and just like those films it should have the same kind of run with a decent opening, but crappy legs. Although I expect much weaker legs on GL since it will face alot of competion coming up. I guess I expect it to be more GH than F4.
:Final Prediction: $55M OW/ $130M DOM

 Re: Green Lantern Predictions
$114,631,201 after $56 days. I see it ending with $115.5m maybe $116m but that is the max. It is doing bad in OS markets as well.
The opening really helped this movie get past $100m otherwise it had the worst legs possible, it is out there with one of the biggest disappointments of the year, not only in terms of money but also in quality
