Here are some Scary Movie 4 sellouts I found on Fandango earlier today and just recently (I actually didn't see many sellouts tonight when I checked twice today. This could be due to the fact that most theaters have the film on 2-4 screens, lessening the sell-out potential as a result. Libs noted this possibility also):
In my area:
Carmike 16 (Allentown, PA)- 7:15, 8:00, 8:15, 9:15, and 10:00 shows ALL sold out
Regal Manor 16 (Lancaster, PA)- 7:05
R/C Hanover Movies- 7:45
In other states:
Loews E-Walk (NYC)- 7:45, 11:45
Regal Medlock Crossing 18 (Duluth, GA)- 7:45

Scary Movie 4
AMC Mansell 14
8:50 PM
~60% (~300 seat theater)
Trailers:
Little Man
Clerks II
Pulse
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Film:
A disaster. The third was at least funny, this one was terrible in almost every single way. The jokes all fell flat, except for perhaps a few laughs and even those went on way too long. A very poorly made film, and it seems like this series has run its course, or rather it did after the first film.
D+
Crowd Reaction: Mixed at best.

At my theater (before 7:30)
Scary Movie 4
12:15 - 90
12:45 - 56
1:15 - 74
1:45 - 64
2:15 - 89
2:45 - 57
3:15 - 106
3:45 - 99
4:15 - 117
4:45 - 118
5:15 - 130
5:45 - 122
6:15 - 110
6:15 interlock - 91
6:45 - 260
7:15 - 317
and the 7:45 was on the verge of selling out.
(Great so far, especially since there is a show every half hour. I see a 20 million Friday based on this).
The Wild
12:30 - 54
1:20 - 25
2:40 - 65
3:30 - 44
4:55 - 34
5:45 - 45
7:15 - 80
the 8:00 got 22 so far.
(For Good Friday, this isn't all that great. It will be lucky to get 4 million today if this keeps up).
La Mujer De Mi Hermona (155 seater)
1:55 - 22
4:20 - 43
7:20 - Sold Out.
(Surprisingly good, I think this city having a heavy Mexican population really helped).
Thank You For Smoking
1:40 - 14
3;15 - 31
5:40 - 26
the 7:55 got 53 so far.
(Dropping to one screen, it is tough to tell where this will go).
Among Holdovers.
Ice Age was beating The Wild in the matinees. Attendance got 35-65 admits during matinees (not bad for having a show every half hour). Night shows are pretty much even with matinees, so we should see a solid gross today.
Take the Lead got 30-45 people during matinees, but only 50 people among the night shows today.
Benchwarmers is taking a beating to Scary Movie 4. Matinees got 30-50 people, but night shows are not keeping up with matinees.
Inside Man is also losing it's footing too. The matinees got 20-30 people.
Phat Girls is barely registering, and Lucky Number Slevin did very little in the day, but is picking up a bit at night.
All in all, it was was a Good Friday so far. It was far better than last's years good Friday, but not as strong as 2004. This was mostly because Scary Movie 4 was the only thing standing out.

HSX report...
jhamaker wrote: Quicky theatre report: TWILD is running about 60% of Chicken Little's opening; about even with Robots...
SCAR4 is on pace to do about the same business as SCAR3's opening. Both movies have one showing left - I expect TWILD to be dead but it could be the top show of the day for SCAR4.
It's hard to tell where The Wild will end up.

From notfabio at HSX:
Quote: LBC Bizay Report PST -- notfabio, Apr 15, 0:47 As of about 925 PM
SCARY MOVIE 4: $5133 599 (TWO SHOWS TO GO) $6392 749 (one show to go) $6474 749 (Passes = the attend being the same $ dif) $5044 596 (300 more tickets to go) $4684 544 (270 more tickets to go)
Hard to say if this has mid 20's in it, but I still heartily stand by my port reset if this comes in under 20.
THE WILD: $3107 424 $2184 284
Should wind up in the low to mid teens for the weekend, not disasterous, but not great either.
BENCHWARMERS: $3535 440 $2482 307
Definitely a noticable drop, but not a horrific one especially considering the competition, both prime shows did over 150 people each.
TAKE THE LEAD $2178 274 $1293 166
This took a sharp fall, looks like legs aren't taking hold.

The Omen (reaction when Damien is all "Bye" while Julia Stiles is hanging off the rail; also, chatter when they showed the 6/6/06 date)
My theatre showed the trailer but cut off the release date, the most important thing especially with this film. If Fox found out they would likely be furious.

Scary Movie 4
10:15
About 400 seats - 35%-40% full - Good compared to most movies here.
I can't remember ever seeing an audience with this many teens. The audience was at least 70% teens. I doubt there were more then 25 people older then me there. This theater is usually packed with teens as it is; in fact on most Friday nights you will find about 200 teens hanging out along the street between the mall and the theater. Still, I've never seen anything like this, although I suppose that has to do with the fact that I don't usually go to movies like When a Stranger Calls on opening day.
Missed the trailers.
The movie:
I didn't quite enjoy it as much as SM3, although the humor was still infectious. I couldn't help but smile and laugh much of the way through. Many of the jokes missed, but right after a better one would often follow. I thought the Million Dollar Baby spoof was the best, although it hardly got any laughs; I suppose hardly anyone in the audience had even seen M$B. In general the audience laughed more then I would expect for the average comedy even if not as much as for Wedding Crashers or Harold and Kumar. I heard generally positive comments while leaving.
I think that the reason I didn't like this as much as the last one might be that I saw SM3 with my brother. It must be some weird genetic thing, but comedies are never as much fun for me when watching with friends. He's coming back from Iraq this week (and he loved SM3 far more then I did "one of the funniest movies ever") so, I'll have to make sure see it a second time with him.
For now: 7.0/10 - B+

How long has your brother been in Iraq? My cousin is in his 13 month of an 18 month stay. I pray he makes it out alive.
Also, if your brother has been in Iraq for a year or more he may not catch all the jokes because he wouldn't have had the chance to see the films parodied.

Friday
Scary Movie 4
2.25pm showing
20% full on a 600 seater.
The audience was exclusively teen. Two people over the age of 25 were there.
Trailers:
Silent Hill [very positive] word of mouth around the trailer has been outstanding here. Watch this space.
The Da Vinci Code [neutral/negative] Couple behind me said "that looks awful". I'm not sure if anyone really knew what it was apart from us to be honest...
My response: It was okay. Worst in the series, but still not bad, quite funny for a while.
Audience: Mainly negative reaction, heard lots of obscenities muttered on the way out about it. People did not seem impressed. Little laughter throughout in general. Not NEARLY as strong a response as Scary Movie 3 had opening night.
I'll do my Basic Instinct 2 one too why not
BASIC INSTINCT 2
Wednesday at 7.45pm
Only showing of the day, 300 seater about 15% full.
Laughter towards the film but a very positive response to An American Haunting's trailer.

7:30pm Friday - Shattuck Cinemas - Berkeley
75% full in a 300 seater
Film Noir 90210
It has the POTENTIAL to break out. I can see this being really popular with the 15-25 year olds.

Only 7 months. He'll be here for 3 weeks, but when he goes back it will be for about a year.
He's seen all the major movies being parodied.

Scary Movie 4
9:30pm showing, 500 seats, sold out.
Trailers
Little Man (big laughs)
Clerks II (some laughs, mainly at the end with Jay)
The Omen (lots of talking)
Pulse (whispering)
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (talking)
Movie
Disappointed. It was funny, but never, ever hilarious. It's not as bad as Date Movie, since it actually does a good job of spoofing films, but I expected it to be better. I liked some spoofs, like the Oprah bit at the end, the Saw spoof at the beginning, and a couple of others, but scenes like the Million Dollar Baby spoof were just baaaad. It's entertaining and all, but I was somewhat disappointed. The first three (yes, including the second) were better. B-/C+

Was going to see Thank You for Smoking but ended up 30 minutes late... So the parents saw Take the Lead and I saw Benchwarmers by myself.
I saw a 8:15 showing, theatre was about 3/4 full in a 200 seater.
The movie got a pretty good reaction, yeesh.
I thought the movie was pretty lame, but it wasn't the worst segment of being in the theatre. (that would have to go to seeing the Little Man trailer for the 2nd time in the last two days.)

1:20 - 45
2:40 - 61

Holdovers coming up next.

9:25 PM, 45 people in a 250 seater
Trailers:
An Inconvenient Truth
A Scanner Darkly
Movie: Erratic pace but enjoyable in parts. Aaron Eckhart is good. More of a rental.

Among holdovers.
For Ice Age, matinees got 40 - 85 people. The peak night show got 101 people, while the rest got 60 - 90 people. The late night shows got around 30 people.
Benchwarmers got downgraded, and the peak show got 92 people, not coming close to selling out (even in the 135 seater).
Take the Lead sold out the 8:00 show (110 seater), and the 10:00 got 77% full in the 160 seater.
The peak show for Phat Girls got 35 people (last show).
Lucky Number Slevin sold out the 10:10 show (95 seater). But not much else in earlier shows.
ATL got 70% full for both the 7:50 and 10:25 shows (95 seater).
Thank You For Smoking got around 40% full for the 7:55 and 10:15 shows (190 seater).
Slither sold only 38 admits among it's 2 shows.
Inside Man sold out the 8:00 show (160 seater), but much less for the other shows.
V for Vendetta sold out the 8:20 show (95 seater), though got around 40% full for the other shows.
Stay Alive got 53 people in it's peak show (135 seater)
She's the Man got 67 people in it's peak show (90 seater)
Failure to Lanch got 57 people in it's peak show (95 seater)
The Hills Have Eyes sold out the 9:55 (95 seater), but very little for all the others.
And finally, Shaggy Dog sold 46 admits among it's two shows (less than the 52 it did yesterday).
All in all, we reached our second highest point for Saturday this year, though business went a bit down from yesterday.
