Thanks for helping with the updates!

And bullza: This is roughly the same share as past years, yes. It's a little more now, but still close enough to make mostly direct comparisons. However.... even if the share is the same, today's numbers from this share of locations is accounting for more of the nationwide sales this year. Either urban locations are doing better than before, rural locations have declined, or it's a bit of both.

And it'll have no holiday support, unfortunately. May 6th-July 14th has no holidays and schools haven't let out yet.

It was suppose to open on April 22nd, a week from Golden Week, but someone hacked the studio shortly before then which delayed the film's release.

Are we able to scale this off of Resurrection F?

Based on the 227,000 it had Saturday and how it seemed like it's opening day was ¥510 million and Super Hero is at like 92% of that could you say this has had an opening of ¥470 million?

Or would it be higher because ticket prices are higher now? Maybe it's in a more expensive format? 4DX?

Sunday decreased for Resurrection F. Do we expect the same form this?

It has IMAX, but not 4DX (not until June 22nd, anyway). General tickets aren't any higher now than in 2015, so an avg. ticket price similar to the last two films should be expected.

And I'd use Broly as a better comparison since it's the most recent predecessor.

And yeah, it'll drop tomorrow. I'd say 10-20%.

I'd say around ¥400 million, and a weekend around ¥750 million (assuming a 15% Sun. decline). Its Saturday at the usual locations was very close (looking like 3,000/4,000 shy) to both Fantastic Beasts 3 and Top Gun: Maverick, and they opened to ¥785 million and ¥757 million, respectively. Those films will have a higher avg. ticket price, but I would expect Dragon Ball to have more rural appeal than them (Toei releases usually do) to beat their admissions and counter that a bit.

Corpse, Can TGM reach ¥600M+ 3rd WK? Last Weekend had IMAX up by 8% and 4D by 12%. Considering the lost/change in 4D and Dolby because of Shin Ultraman Expansion, and IMAX to Dragon Ball. How likely is it possible to for 3rd Weekend Total to be above ¥600M? TGM seem to be benefited by premium format, which made 2nd Weekend ATP higher than Opening Weekend...

An opening about ¥210 million though than Resurrection F? Even though the Saturday admissions on Mimorin were 92.5% of Resurrection F?

Well, it can't be compared exactly to it. While the theater count share (~70%, or a little more now) is mostly the same, those same theaters are accounting for more of the nationwide admissions in the past year. It varies by film, but those ~70% of theaters are accounting for closer to 80% of overall admissions now. There's been a rise in urban location business (where most of these theaters are located), a decline in rural location business (some evidence by family films skewing more urban this year), or a mixture of both.

It might have done 92.5% of Resurrection F's admissions at the usual locations, but that's probably more like ~82% or something nationwide now. We don't know for sure until numbers come out, but that's been the trend over the past 6+ months.

Two months back Detective Conan 25 beat every past film at the usual locations over the weekend, but it still came in below the last 3 films in admissions nationwide.

Should be "comfortably" above ¥600 million this weekend. That'd be a 21% drop, which is far too high even with losing/sharing its premium format screens. It's only down 9% vs last Sat in admissions at the usual locations, so I'd be a little surprised if it drops more than 15% this weekend in revenue. -15% will be around ¥640/645 million.

What was the Top Gun giveaway this weekend, by the way? JustLurking mentioned it yesterday.

Not great, but it's understandable to be down a decent bit for a fan-driven film like this. The biggest fans will be seeing it as early as they can, which would have been Saturday morning/afternoon. It's going to drop, but it should bounce back to something closer to 15-20% or so by the end of the day. I'm expecting ~170,000-175,000 from the usual locations today.

¥10.0B Dreams is slow gaining some momentum for TGM. Still not sure if it's happening but must say that TGM crossing ¥5.0B wasn't expected by many people (I meant it wasn't included in list of many analyst's possible ¥5.0B for Hollywood (2022)) Well, great to see that a random sequel (not random for senior citizens) is just about to cross ¥5.0B by next weekend (might be before too) (^3^♪

The majority of the top grossing films, or just high earners, are often unpredictable. Of the Top 39 films (all the ¥10 billion earners), I'd say... 25-27 of the 39 were unpredictable / not expected to get there at some point, either before they opened, after they opened, and/or not until many weeks/months into their runs.

¥10 billion won't be easy, but it's keeping the chance alive. We'll still have to wait a few weeks before really being able to project if it'll get there or not though. ~¥8 billion is *probably* the goal now at the very least (but it can go higher, just need to wait), which is far more than anyone was expecting. ¥4/5 billion (basically the Mission: Impossible range) or a little more was the higher-end of expectations.

Post Re: Japan Box-Office: DBS:Super Hero Debuts (Sun Admin Track
I'm a little confused here. Right now Mimorin top right corner says Super Hero as of 1:52pm 85,500.

Below that it says same time yesterday Super Hero was at 106,100...ok. That's a gap of 21,000.

But further down in the Daily Ranking for yesterday at 2pm, Super Hero was at 102,900 which is considerably lower. Now in 2pm daily rankings Super Hero says 89,000 which is considerably higher and that gap is only 13,000.

I don't get that? Is the 106,000 from yesterday including the independents on to it? Because when I checked around 2pm in that top right corner it was at 98,000.
