Never said MV was good, I just wanted Gong Li to die since her character was so annoying in the film and reminded me so much of the stereotypical dragon lady

Whoa, whoa, whoa... what the fuck just happened. I checked 20 minutes ago and SOAP wasn't even on the chart and now it's #3 with a score of 28.

Just saw a spot during ESPN, stating the film is not yet rated.

Okay so they released a rating a week and a couple days before the film came out, happy? You bastard
But the spots still say not yet rated.

Being R will obviously hurt the film more then help it.

Im sure New Line would be extremely dissapointed that they dont get your business, they would've probably had to file for bankruptcy.

Where exactly do you get that there will be graphic violence? The movie was originally PG-13 they actually did a small reshoot to make the film R. Dont go expecting extreme horror type violence/gore.
An R rating is limiting it's audience even more.

Okay, but just because the fanboys WANT something doesnt mean the movie is better off that way financially.

If thats all you're going for then the movie has no shot to actually break out.

What are you predicting? They don't estimate a film for 3300+ screens unless they think it'll appeal to a relatively large audience segment.

So you honestly think that 65m is coming ALL from the fanbase? Yeah right, the movie would make more like 15m-20m tops if only the fanboys were coming out for the film.

Hehe, even in Germany people were clapping and laughing at the movie's trailer when I saw it at theatres over the last week.
3,300 theatres is awesome!
This $40 million total club is going down very fast.
My current predictions:
Opening weekend - $33 million
Total gross - $70 million
$40 million would certainly not surprise me, though. For the opening, that is.

Amazing that an original property not based on prior material has a fanbase
Is this akin to The Blair Witch Project and its fanbase? How about other comparisons?

So Roid, now that SOAP is opening in at least 800 more theaters than you expected and it's on the buzz chart that you bring up everyday (and it has a damn great score and ranking), you still eatin' that sock when it has a $10m opening day?

I read on a website that the recent terror attempt in Britain concerning bombs on planes could have a negative effect on this film. I don't really see any validity as this is not a realistic film.
Your thoughts? Will it have any effect?

As of now, I don't see Snakes having an opening day lower than $12 million. The opening day should account for at least 40% of the total weekend cume.

Any thoughts on whether the recent events will have an effect on the film's performance?
